Dreambox and VLC

Hello,

How can I view the stream from the Dreambox using VLC? I've downloaded the M3U from the box, used it in VLC and media player and didn't work, nothing happened for both of them. If I access it in a browser, I get a constant data download.
I've searched this all over the place, but couldn't find anything useful.

Hi @MMichael,

I don't know which image you are using but with Gemini 4.70 (and others) it should be very simple. This example is from my netbook running Xandros Linux but will be very similar for Windoze:

1. Using Firefox (not IE) open the Enigma Webif :
Enter your Dreambox IP in the address bar of Firefox and press enter.
After logging-in, you should see something like my first image.

2. Select a channel that you wish to view, click it and then click the vpid: number.
In this example 4fun.TV and vpid: 0xa3

3. This should open a box similar to the one in my second image.
Select VLC to open the video.m3u file and click OK.

4. A download box will appear followed, a second or so later, by VLC and after another second or so the channel will start streaming, as shown in my third image.
