You'll probably need to adjust it on your TV rather than on the Dreambox.

I have no TV via an aerial so can't compare it for you.

AV settings are in System Settings on a Dreambox.

Also, If you are using a Red, White, yellow lead (Not sure what they are called), I've noticed that a scart lead is much better / Brighter.

Try a scart lead if you are not already using one.

Make sure you are using RGB colour format and PAL system in the AV settings menu.

Hi guys , thanks for answering my question. My prob is that I have a 42" plasma tv and sky hd. My picture is great with sky and freeview tv. So I dont want too adjust the tv settings.

I have the dreambox 500s connected via a scart cable to the tv, but the contrast is slightly to low, mostly noticable in darker scenes and there also seems to be too much colour, but only just a little. Is this something I am going to have to live with? Will a different box be any better? I also have lots of other questions, but I will post them seperately.. Cheers.................

You could try playing with the colour format settings in the AV settings on the Dreambox. Does your TV allow you to have different settings depending on the AV input e.g. scart, hmdi etc?
