I itried to flash an image (jade pli) over lan. It stuck at 84% so I had to pull the power. Its absolutely dead. It turns on and the green led lights up but then it goes off after a few minutes.

I have tried to flash a new image with null modem and dreamup but no joy.

I have a usb to RS-232 cable. Dreamup recodnises it at COM3 but after it say's to switch on the dreambox nothing happens.

I think the cable set up is correct as I tried it with my technomate receiver and managed to flash a patch over to it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Switch on dreambox means switch on mains power.

If you are already doing that - try a real RS232 lead from a RS232 com port on a desktop computer.

You should Never Flash over lan have you never readeded the warnings only 500s

You can try via Serial Port. If that dont work your DM needs jtag or You need to get a new one

Forget there is a stick

the box does not need jtagging if it did then both the light would be on red and green. I have put my box in the same condition only way you can re-flash it is using a rs232 direct into the motherboard in my experience the usb to rs232 doesn't work it will detect it but dreamup wont allow you to flash the box as it wont connect properly.
