Can anyone confirm if the Dreambox DM 8000 PVR is going to be discontinued, going to purchase one from Germany however, noted an entry on the web that they are going to be discontinued. if so looking for a suitable alternative

Yes, it is right, DM8000 not in production anymore. If you wish to stick to DM brand than wait for product named Goliath.
