dreambox dm500s stops at boot screen

Hi all

i have dm500s , gemini image 3.0 it worked fine for over a year but now when i try to power it up the screen freezes at the blue boot screen(THE GP) and nothing happens. i plugged off the box several times and powered it again but same response.
i assumed the firmware is broken and i should have new one.so i opened Flashwizard Pro and choose the image i want to download but the program couldnt connect to dreambox.

Note: network switch and dreambox both shows that they are connected(connection lamps are green).

what should i do in this case ?

This tbh sounds like the PSU is gone. My guess is you have a cheap DM500 clone. You could try flashing through RS232, google Dreamup for clones. I'd also recommend using Gemini 3.0 or an old PLi image. If its still hangs I'd say the PSU is knackered. If you want something cheap to replace it look a TM-500 Super, genuine receiver and we're selling them for only £78 with free delivery, see link in my signature.

i think if the psu is down , the box wont boot.

but the power lamp is on and green, and the boot screen shows up
anyway i just tried dreamup now but when i choose connect and plug in the power to the box nothing happens on dreamup.

i will try another version of dreamup
 
If the psu is knackered you may as well throw it away and buy summat decent.

I've seen dead PSU's with a the green lamp on. Google Dreamup for clones. If it dont connect I'd say defo the PSU. If you want a similar receiver I'd replace with a TM500 Super.
