My Satellite Setup
Dm7020Si +DM500+ TM600+ Cable receiver. 1.1 Triax, 90cm mesh Sm3500 Sat Meter,
HP DC7900 with DVB-S2 and AV to USB, 22" and 17" monitors!

Just came across this peice that enable DM to join your router wirelessly!
It might be useful for people with issues of long wiring...
its on felebay.. for £24.99. however some local store do them alot cheaper around £16...

Any more information? Anyone used it? Might be a nice toy if it works...
 
Hi T_G....got one a few weeks back and works fine..little bit confusing at first, I didn't realise you must connect the ethernet adapter to use it..I thought it was a straight USB wireless device, USB plug is for power..Just one thing the device wouldn't work with Win 7. I had to use my sons XP lappie to get it recognised on the network. I was using it on a DM500 clone, which incidentally I've knackered with a corrupt PLI image any body know how to restore..I've tried all versions of dreamup!!

Well top..I took a funny turn on Sunday and ended up in hospital with all sorts of prodding and poking on the old nogggin...still all tests coming back clear so far..hopefully be released today then I can get back to that damned corrupted DM500, its not going to beat me.
 
i got one for free with my order and its a brilliant device worked straight away. Gandalf it does work with win 7 i used win 7
 
I ordered one, ran very smoothly, just you need to configure it using pc first to join your router, if you are setting it up from win 7 or vista you need to run its soft as winxp application, right click on the exe file - properties then compatibility tick box to run as winxp sp2 application.
 
Where have you seen them for £16? I've just had to move my router from the living room to the study so this would save me running a cable between my DM500S
 
I managed to pick up an (as new) Asus WP-330 for 5 Euros + 6.50 shipping on one of the popular auction sites.
 
Technically saying - this is just an simple wifi router/bridge with 1 LAN output :)

Same money, here will buy me full-featured wifi router, so I think there's not much idea in this device.

Also, some users may don't know, but you can easilly connect two wifi access points to each other via wifi...

what usb chipset is compatible with the dreambox 800?
i want to buy one,soon,what other files are nesarsary,that i can access the stick under engima 2,over my linksys us robotics wireless router?
is it complicated to make the configuation,or should it work automaticly,without the need of some driver files?

at least you would save extra power cable, hence device is powered by dream itself or any usb port for other boxes.

To my knowlodge linking 2 wifi is not easy job, u need to have both routers bridge enabled and not all routers have this... another thing is u must broadcast both wifi in same freq. having the security key same as as well, with same gateway and ip range... if u know otherway please share it?

You dont need driver to install on the box, just using your pc a little soft to enable this devie and enter wireless key and you are done! plug and play on DM and all others.. you can even use on normal pc if u want

Ebay.co.uk then enter this item number, 200473853433 or search for wireless bridge, this fella wants £30 for them though, they do work very well, ive used a few of them with no issues, just set them up on the pc/laptop first by installing the accompanying software on the disc, plug into usb and ethernet on pc/lappy (ive used all recent OS inc win7 with no probs) then just follow the setup procedure,enter network key etc and it will pair up to your wireless, then plug into client device and there you go one wireless system, works on xbox and so on too.

buy any rt73 compatible usb stick for £10 and install dream elite image = there u go
i am runnin dm800 like that
