Hello All,

I have a DM800HD. My network consists of a couple of laptops using BT's homehub 3.

Last night, I created a dynamic dns, set this up on the router, also created port 8080, then port forwarded ports 21, 80 & 8080 to the DM800. From a different network, I put the dyndns address in IE, and got the WebUI of the DM800. So it looks like I have everything setup ok for me to access my DM800 from a secondary location. During this testing, I had turned my routers firewall off.

I have now turned off the port forwarding, and put the firewall back on, my question is this:

what security options can I apply to the DM800 and router, to make the connection and my network safe?

I know about changing the root password (I assume this is ok to change using DCC), can I password protect the initial DM WebUI screen, do I need port 8080 forwarded, or is 21 & 80 enough, should the default firewall settings of the router be ok with those ports forwarded, any other security options available?

thanks for your time
