Hi all, it’s been a long time since I’ve been on here, a lot has changed since I was last on here,
Anyways, as my Dreambox 8000 has basically stopped connecting to my network, I have been in search for an upgrade,
I’ve come across the Dreambox One and the Dreambox 920,
Not seen much about them, I am hoping someone on here will shed some light on this,
Any reviews and which is recommended?
The One seems to be smaller with not many connections on the rear, whereas the 920 seems to have all the connections needed..

Thanks,

There are maaaaany more options than the overpriced Dreambox. Look at offerings from Vu+, Mutant, Octagon and others if Enigma2 is what you want to continue using.

I am drawn to the 920 mainly because it has got an HDMI input as well as just the output

What is that input used for?

I did have the 920 for about 3 days and returned it back to HM Sat because even though it was still Enigma2, which I generally like, it was ridden with bugs. For a start, you couldn't adjust the OSD borders so menu edges and such were off screen. Subtitles were atrocious, showing nowhere near the bottom of the screen.

The issue is that most of the images for this receiver seem to be based on DreamOS(?) instead of the more common and far less buggy OpenPLI. This seems to be a partially closed receiver, so not that easy to adapt other images on it.

At least that was the case 2-3 years ago.

What is that input used for?...
All I can think of is, it being for recording other hdmi sources onto the box (with an HDD installed in the box)

I have dm900 and very happy always dreamboxes. i would wait the new dreambox two for sure good choice.

I would say dreambox two ultra hd if u can wait and have the money for it it looks nice so far and the specs are good

After several years im still with my dm900 and now im thinking to replace with two. But im reading that one its the same even better with dtt tuner and only without display.

Which is better one or two?

But you have to take into account that the DM service no longer exists. Only stock items are sold.

i have a DM920 - hate it - HDMI out doesnt work - blind scan iffy at best - remote is horrible.

did i say i hate it?
