I don't think the french links are going to be of much use… Orange satellite TV is only available to french folks with Orange ADSL, but without enough bandwidth to get telly over their broadband connection. The Orange sat receiver is connected to the ADSL box for the EPG etc…
As to Canal+, well it's pretty much "french Sky"… not particularly cheap either, if you want the interesting stuff !
