I used to watch tv from dreambox to my pc with Mgrab. The problem is this software uses a codec which is in trial and expires after while which results in some irritating messages. Has anyone bought MoonlightElecard2.0.3611 ??
The company is closed and I can't find the fully version of the software.
I tried to download a similar codec but it wont cooperate with the software

What image do you use?

It helps us if you put these details in your profile or signature.

If you use Gemini you can use Firefox (with vlc plugin) or you can use daftgrab (with media player)- search the forum, it's in here. And it's free.

I know these programs but they are rubbish in comparison to Mgrab. Basically am looking for the paid version of MoonlightElecard2.0.3611 since seems to be the only codec that cooperates with the program

You're watching TV on a PC? How good do they need to be?

isohunt and demonoid both have elecard software but no exact matches.

Well they need to have certain functionalities. I will check what they have in demonoid to see if it works but they gotta be from moonlight otherwise mgrab won't detect them. I wonder if I could manipulate the program to accept more codecs.

Recording works but not the streaming which is weird. I access the web interface, I save the video pid file and when I open it with VLC it won't play.
What are the possible reasons?

As for Mgrab I encourage everyone to give it a try. That is if you can find the MoonlightElecard2.0.3611 full version.

When i try to start tuxvision as well as other, it says: "unable to open capture driver, program will exit"

This means the capture filter DBOXIISource.ax has not been installed. When you try to install with regsvr, what error do you get ?

TuxVisionR should give you better streaming (i.e viewing) and recording than mgrab even for high bitrates and encrypted channels.

What is regsrv? Going to try to install dbox
The streaming from the web interface doesnt work either

When I say Mgrab i refer to the program mrgab which is very nice.

It is actually regsvr32.exe, should be already in your system. Download the zip folder from the link in my post above, it contains the howto (Readme) and the filter. It is very simple to register a filter.

I know mgrab, I have used used it in the past. Regarding moonlightelecard, do you know the .ax file name of the filter you want ?

Ok ill check the link.
Am not sure when you say the .ax name. I would be grateful if i could mgrab work again without the bloody codec which is expired and thus brings up some artifacts.

I forgot to mention - Mgrab uses the old DBOXII capture filter, which I have modified for better streaming and included in TuxVisionR zip. The other necessary filters are already in your system as you have installed TRex. :)

ps. You will find the Moonlight codec package here :-

Full version of the Moonlight codec ? I don't know, I only saw the upload thread in that forum.

Stable version ? I have found all gemini versions stable. Used the latest maxvar recently. No problem.

The commonly found version of moonlight expires after a while. Also the company is gone bust so you cant buy it even if you want to.

oh thanks for dissing daftgrab :P it aint that bad :P and that new version is definatly gonna come out eventually :P
