i buy 2 pieces of dream 500 china


now after 1 weak i have problem

2 dreambox work 5 minutes then when change the channel no signal

i check tuner output only 4 volt

i change the adapter same problem.


if i take out dream 20 minutes it will work again then no signal


please can you tell me the problem is from tuner or processor

Not a major issue now as they are throw away receivers. I just bought a Dreambox 500s clone for £39 inc postage on ebay :-lmao

Just bin it and get another one. It will be cheaper in the long run :-righton

If its a genuine one it may be worth sending it back to DMM for repair, but in all honesty out of say 50 DM500 boxes i have only ever seen one genuine DM500s, the rest were just clones.

It is worth baring in mind though that the build quality on a lot of the clones is now as good, if not better than the stuff from Dream :D

Not very reassuring this post I got mine three days ago.
I paniced a bit then noticed the post date. Hopefully they have got better.:)
 
In case you dont know DONT put any of the latest Gemini images on it unless you want to turn your receiver into a doorstop..
 
Mine is a fake apperntly but it can run the latest gemini and offical images, I am having the same issue with the guy at the top and its only on 19.2. On 5e it tunes perfectly.
 
Oddly enough mine is on 19.2e.It works perfectly The only other satellite it has been on up to now was 1w that was ok too.

Going down the garden now to have a mess with it,hope it still works
 
That sounds more like the satellite transponder settings to me :p

If it works on one sat there is no reason why it shouldn't work on another :confused:

Check the transponder settings for the sat that doesn't work against that particular sat listing on lyngsat :D

If theyre not the same or they aren't there let me know and i'm sure i can give you a pointer on how to fix it :-righton
 
They are all the same and it works with the same dish on another sat, Just not 19.2. It works when I plug it in via loop output too so theres no settings wrong
 
Sorry a bit of confusion there, that last comment was directed at pontiend :D

It sound like your tuner may be a bit duff my friend, Bin the 500s and buy another. It works out cheaper that way :-righton

In the UK you will get charged £30 just for a repair shop to look at it :mad:

When you have added the price of replacement parts it usually ends up costting more than a new 500s clone :eek:
 
Hi there,my clone from ebay,made in china works since 2 years,without any problems!
there are also clones on the market,where you can install gimmini images above 4.3 without anyproblems and soft say is a orginal box!
if not,you can use special tools,to maipulate your mac adress,in a range,that the box means it is an orginal!

one questions does every dm 500 clone have a blindscan tuner ?
i scan turksat,and exactly the same number of channels where found,like on a real blindscan receicer,but strange,this not work in cband i dont know why!
on a orginal dm 500 the tuner is defenetly diffrent!
 
I bought the clone yesterday, so binning it isnt exactly good.

the picture quality of clone dm 500 is not so good then the orginal,on small tv screens maybe okay,but not on bigger ones,looks not good!

soon i got confirmed dreambox 500 hd,come out!
clone of 800 now avalible in thailand for 200€!

dr dish,visit the clone factory one time,roumours told,that the orginal comes also from the same factory,then some of the clones,but not all of them!
i never buy i dreambox in auction house again!

many dealers there import hunderts of dreamboxes in big oversea container,and sells them with a lot of profit here in europe,retail price when you take many 10000 pcs is very low in china and here the sold it for 130€ or more!
 
I am only a newby with the dm500,So what I come out with is probably rubbish.
But I noticed tonight .that if I swing the dish to another sat and do a scan I loose the saved channels from the previous one.I think that because the menu is set to one satellite it only saves channels for one satellite.Don't know if it has anything to do with landoh's problem though.

when you scan another satellite,make a new one with a diffrent name,in the satellite list,when you scan 2 times ,under the same position,and select the wrong menu entry,then your old channels can be overwriten!

or it is a memory fault,thats also posible,try another image,and look is the result the same or not!
 
Do you have the satellite configuration set for multiple satellites ?

Like in the picture below :D

If you have more than 1 sat you either have to have it set to one of the following settings seen in picture below which suits your setup the best.

I just use many sats via a diseqc mtor on all of mine even though only one receiver controls the motor :D

If you set it for 1 sat then change to another it will forget the first :mad:

No it is set to direct connection as I only have the Astra 19.2 dish connected to it and want that. It doesnt matter if I use a switch ive tried it.
 
If you only got it yesterday mate, you need to send it back to where you got it from, the tuner is stuffed :(

Nothing you do is going to fix it :eek:

The only option for you is to try installing another image just in case its just one of those rare occurrences and if that doesn't work you will need to send it back to where it came from and get replacement :eek:

the problem is,many dealers in the auction house,does not include a bill!
when you get a clone make photos and send to dream multimedia,normaly the dealer should pay then a lot of fine!
but i never heard in the media,that someone that sells clones,ever payed something!
 
I cant return it as the website has refused to accept it back... I have filed a complaint against paypal but anyway, I got reading before and I found something rarther interesting, The capasiter could have blown causing this problem.
