Finnaly going to take the plunge and get 5 Dreamboxes. Have seen these cheap D500S units about 40 pounds each. The new sky cards seem to work ok in Dreamboxes(?) I understand from what I have read that these must be clones. All I want is to be able to watch up to 5 different channels in the same premises from one subscribed card. I am not looking to go online with them.

Are these ok for that? What is the software I can download and the software I must stay away from (have read theat Gemini software buggers clones).

pli jade maxvar seems to be about the most reliable although i like nabilosat darkstar 2.

as for the other question, theyll be fine.
 
Thanks paxrax. So these two work ok on clone machine. Do I need any special loader software for these?
 
Give the Powerboard VX image a try :D

Fantastic image i found. Its one of the only images where the download server still contains all the emus like cccam, mgcamd etc etc.

pli does (happily) but i might give this vx a go, never heard of it, cheers nano.

just download the latest dreamup from dream multimedia's website.
 
I thought the manufacturers software was a no go on these clones, but you think this is ok?

I use Dreamup 1.3.3.4 on my DM500s clone with no problems at all
