Dreambox Wont Boot Help

Hi all.

Flashed my dreambox with flashwizard and it stalled at 94% and had to shut it down. Box died so I got my new null modem cable connected it up to dreamup all ok.

I erased the flash then preceded to install an image pli jade. The image install failed then I relized it was a backup image! now my box wont connect to dreamup so I can reflash any ideas???

Box has green light on but no output to tv just a black screen.:-Nooo

Disconnect it from the mains for an hour or so and then try again

I left the box overnight and tried again it connected first time ok thx said the box was alive etc. flash erased then flashed with 106 original firmware, the processs got to five minutes to go uploading then stopped and said error and that was it could not connect to the box again.

Any ideas???

Disconnect all cables from the box, including the LNB Coaxial cable, power, SCART, etc after shutdown.
Shutdown PC and then connect the null modem cable between PC and receiver.
Switch on PC and then proceed as before.

Thanks ill give it a go.

Tried again got it connected ok but still got an error when flashing is the box damaged?
would erase.img help?

Got it connected ok again ! says box is alive etc I erased flash that went ok then tried to ping box and it failed the program tried to clear bitlock and that failed too so had to disconnect 'O'-red

Try putting a original image on your dreambox see if that helps

Please give more details about your PC or laptop
- OS
- Are you using a serial interface or a USB adapter for the null modem cable.

What image are you trying to flash and where did you download it from?
It could be that you have a corrupt image file

Hi thx for the replies.

My operating system is vista ultimate

connecting straight from com port 1 on my pc (pentium 4) to dreambox with null modem lead

Ive tried original image and pli jade and the erase image always get the same "error upload aborted"

If I had hair I would have none now lol

Ill try xp I think!

I seem to have to wait 2 hours to get connected to the box again after a failed flash attemp and unplugging from the mains is this the same for everone?

Tried it on xp same then dried on a different computer the same still getting upload error. looks like a new box !!!

CIFsat: is it a real DM500 or a clone? What image were you flashing it with?

It was a clone and I tried to flash with every image. I gave up in the end and bought a dm600 much better machine

anyone got a non-working dreambox 500s they dont want

I found that my 500s clones would`nt flash using a laptop with vista on it.
But worked perfect using a computer with XP.

Hi

- what is the different between these two DB? How can I know if I have clone or not?

I uploaded CCcam 2.0.9 and newcs 1.60b to my DB500S via FTP in DB Control Center, then renamed the file to root.camfrs (cant remember exact name here, did this last night) as instructed by DBCC then started flashing it from the 'expert' menu in DB UI.

Screen went black about 2 minutes later and never recovered.

DB will no longer boot.

I left the DB unplugged overnight but it's still not working in the morning.



What are my options here?
