Hi lads hope someone can help me with this as its all new to me,i bought a dm 500-s flashed Gemini image,i had to use dream up to do it as flashwizard 6,3 would not connect could not find ip address,next i had to configure Cccam configi tried to use ftp dccbut would not connect to box said box has no ip address,

You put Gemini on a 500. Are you mad? It can Brick your receiver quicker than you can say "I love my Brick"

This is a big no no as it has been known to damage even genuine DM500s boxes. I would remove it and put something sensible like Nabilosat or SIF onto it.

You will need to configure the boxes IP address through Menu ->6 -> Expert menu -> Communication settings and then jot it down so you know exactly what the local IP address of the box is

If you can't get DCC to work try using Crimson Editor. Its free to download, all you need to do is google it to find it :-righton

can't use crimson editor,after download i open it and says file corrupted if it is the first time open, i just get like a word pad how do i use it,on dcc it cant connect to dm,
 
Do you remember which version of Gemini did you use?
If it was the latest version, then it is probably dead now and you need to use JTAG method to get it back to life.
Search the forum for JTAG by mhku.
 
i put gemini 4.20 on, done everythink,blue screen flowed instructions then went to configure CCcam config but dcc would not connect to box,is there another program i can use.(crimson editor i dont under stand)do i need a internet connection when doing this.

Did you set a password on the reciever ? If the image you flashed has no password DCC might not like it, I had this problem with my TM500. Use telnet to change the password to something other than blank/null/nothing.

You shouldn't need an internet connection to FTP between your reciever and pc
