Hi,

I am watching the FTA BBC1 on my Dreambox 7020S. I have newcamd6.07d running and I get no ability to use the "RED" button in the same way as i can use it on the sky box.

For example I could select addition commentary highlights etc. On the dreambox how did I access this extra functionailty?

Thanks,

Stvy

You can find the extra screens on other transponders, but the red button usage is designed purely for the Sky Digibox.

yes RED is EPG on DB.

if BBCi are flagged as subservices (which I think they aren't) then GREEN would help you ;)

Hi,

This is interesting.....

I hope that someone will add this functionality to the Dream box.

It would seem to me that since BBC is now FTA that they should publish the specifications for how it is all transmitted so someone could then add the functionality....

Unfortunately I do not have the programming skill to do it myself.

Thanks,

Stvy

Hi,

Could you anyone please point my inthe right direction so I can find the "red button" channels for BBC and sky sports?

I would imagine they are just other channels on a different transponder or are sub services something else? Is there any way I can manually find them then save them to the bouquet?

Thanks,

Stvy

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

Is there any way with a dm7020s you can select a transponder and then see what channels are availble in that mux? I don't know what the channels that go with those 2 transponders are. Therefore since I do not know what the EPG channel names or numbers is I cant find them.

Any tips?

Thanks,

Stvy

The BBC i channels are flagged as data services. This came up during the World Cup. From memory, you have to edit the xml channel file, and change the stream type from data to tv. Then they display.

The BBC streams are "Stream 0" to "Stream 6" They are not on the epg so dont have proper names.

Hi,

Thanks for the pointers but unfortunately I do not know where to find the correct file to change these data services to TV.

Could you please let me know what the file is called and where it is located. I am using DCC to ftp the files over to the pc and from there I will edit them with ultraedit.

Thanks,

Stvy

The easiest way to change them is with Dreambox Edit which allows you to store a copy of all files for channels on your PC edit them with a nice GUI and then upload them straight back to your Dreambox if you have all the FTP settings correct.

To change from Data to TV using this program simply find STREAM-0 in the list right click on it select show/edit details you will see service type. Change this from what it is currently (was 120 on mine) to 1 then click on save repeat with STREAM-1 to STREAM-6. Then Press FTP at the top click on "Send Files to Dreambox" once this has completed click on "Reload Settings on Dreambox" when this has finished in the ftp log shutdown the program and check your Dreambox and enjoy BBC Interactive channels.

Hi,

Olijack - thanks that was the info I needed to get me going. I now have BBCi and Sky Sports interactive. Great thankyou very much!

So now I am going to get greedy and ask if there are any other interactive services that I could be accesing?

I am thinking for BBC NEWS 24, ITV, C4 or Sky 1,2,3 etc ? Thanks

Cheers,

Stvy

Theres an ITV interactive service, but unless you are a Coronation Street fan, it probably wont be much interest to you most of the time.

Theres plenty of Sky interactive channels - mainly the stuff running behind the red buttons on the apay channels. They tend to be promo loops, and are as boring as hell!

Nothing else that could be classed as seperate channels though..

Hi,

Ok thanks.... No am not much of a coronation street fan but would be interested if they offer something when showing sports. What tp is it and what channel?

Thanks,

Steve
