Premium Q and Chess receivers, with 2 Dishes aimed at Astra 19.2 and Hotbird
My Location

I am pointing at ASTRA 19.2e with a 110cm dish.
My reception is good on all channels except those on
the DSF transpondent.
I am leaving in Athens, Greece.
The reception on DSF becomes good only at certain
hours of the day for a very short time only.
I am using mostly the PremiumQ 2650F Digital
Satelite Receiver.
I will follow your recommendation for a Refresh,
and I will let you know, although when I did it in
the past i had no improvement.
:confused
Thanks....

Welcome to the forum altcon

You are responding to a thread posted four years ago. Please try and start a new thread when asking a new question, I will move your post to its own thread.

Generally it is unusual for a single transponder to be low on power, however your dish size seems OK, what times of the day do you lose signal?

You are not in the strongest signal area of the footprint however I would have thought there would be not much of a problem. I am assuming you are receiving the digital signal as I noticed the analogue DSF is also still there. In view of this you may be looking at some other kind of problem, e.g. interference causing blocking at a particular frequency for example, often caused by DECT telephones, but I am not sure if that is applicable at this frequency.

From the footprint maps I would hazard a guess of 1.2M for Astra1H in Athens.
Looks as if it's one of the tighter beams for that region.

Tp does fall in the 1880Mhz as Topper pointed out as it happens :D

19e DSF is indeed prone to DECT interference.

Yep,

DECT Frquencies are 1880 to 1900 MHz

Hi band problems:-

12480 to 12500 MHz (10600 MHz LO) IF is 1880 to 1900 MHz

Lo band problems:-

You are right my Ericson Dect Telephone was the culprit.
When I deactivated it everything runs perfect.
Is there a way to go around it without deactivating it ??
I have another Siemens Dect Telephone, but with Echo
Technology and causes no problem at all.
Thanks anyway for your constructive observations.:)

Where were equipments located relative to each other when interference occurred?

Both base stations of the dect/phones are located in the bedrooms,
at approximately 7 to 8 meters from where the Digital Satelite
Receivers are hooked to the TV monitor, and from each other.
Now I have shut down the Ericson and left only the Siemens working.
with the hand set hooked onto the base station because otherwise
even the Siemens makes interference within intervals.

Also once the signal was restored I managed to rename all the channels of the transponder by Manual installation from "unknown" to their original names i.e. DSF,Tele5, DAF etc.
Hope to have answered your question.

Thanks

What about ???

Philips DECT6.0 Digital Cordless Phone DECT2211G

or any other Dect6 Phones??? Which

feature a dedicated bandwidth that avoids interference from the electronics found around your home for interference free...reception

I resurrect this thread only to say thank you to all those involved in it and hopefully to spare anyone else currently wasting their time and getting irritated tweaking their system to no avail.
I missed the ice hockey on DSF Saturday and all I had to do was switch off my phone at the socket for a perfect signal !
Thanks again everyone.
