E-mail notification not working

i subscribed to thread, but when i received an e-mail stating there is a reply i click on the link but, this site will not let me read it.
I now find the thread has vanished but if i google-it it is still there can someone please get there act together and sort this out. )(-red
 
Perhaps if you tell us which particular Thread it was ................................. ??
 
The thread was closed down and moved to archive as 'completed or withdrawn sales' to which is restricted to staff only.

The item you were inquiring about was sold elsewhere.
 
Ah that was the motor thread.

The other guy had sold it elsewhere so I removed it.
 
It would have been better to inform us users that it had beem moved and/or closed than displaying the default notice

user, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:


  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
The question i still have is where is reply from the user about the item to the e-mail that i received
 
If you dont like the way we work on this forum then find another one - theres hundreds out there - none as good as this one of course though.
 
I do like the way this forum is handled.
I received an e-mail from janit on the 11/07/2011 at 21.19hrs saying there was a reply but on clicking the hyperlink i get nothing but i do not have permission to access this page.



Where is the message?
 
The reply simply said the item was sold to which we then closed down the thread.
 
Its been moved to the "withdrawn and completed sales" section - which isnt public.

If we leave them open it sometimes causes problems so we take finished ones down.

The exact reply from janit is:

Ah! but the fact of the matter still remains. Notifying subscribed users to threads which are removed/archived would be more helpful,
Ie: stating this thread has been removed.
We would not have to go through this rig-morrow would we.

I have been on the satellite scene since 1991 until present day, i've seen websites come and go some, are good and some just faid away and disappear i hope this site stays and give many more year service to the users who use it.
 
As already stated if you don't like the way we operate then go elsewhere rather than :-deadhorseover a trivial matter
 
I don't see the problem myself:confused:.

The item was sold, the thread was removed as per what is usually done with sold items. The forum sent you an auto generated email. You post on here asking about the thread, and get very prompt replies, both telling you why and where the thread has gone and the status of the item that you were interested, i.e it was sold.

Nothing more to be said, or done.
