HI ALL

My wife asked what I would like for my 50th birthday (22nd February) so after careful consideration I decided on a nice new Humax HDR 1100S Freesat recorder. A great choice and feature packed including wifi, freetime and you can even pad out recording times. Happy early birthday to me :)

You are indeed blessed :)

It has great reviews. An exciting new toy.
Humax HDR-1100S review
I am pondering with getting rid of Virgin TV as the costs creep up and I am paying to watch endless ads.. I may have to pay extra for if the girls insist on the odd channel Freesat doesn't do for free.

I was away down in the pennines last weekend - we normally watch almost everything timeshifted on the Sky+ box. I had forgotten just how painful watching live tv is when you can FF through the bleedin adverts.

So many good value packages available from eastern European companies, which all show the same mainstream channels as Sky. Discoveries, Net Geos, Cartoon Network etc. etc.

Yes I'm looking at getting cyfra+ again had it twice before and was good value.

Think it's called nc+ now and dvbs2 only now an excuse to buy the tm5502hd that I want.

Sky Italia is good them prepaid cards but you got to use the official receiver.

If your intending to share the Cyfra card between your receivers in the house, bare in mind that the Cyfra Seca cards have SID lock technology, thats if you can get one.

The Conax NC+ cards are Conax CAS7 which are paired so you will need the RSAKey and Boxkey in order to use the card outside its genuine receiver, there are also two versions of this card. One that gives a very quick ecm response and one that has a slow response.

That then leaves Polsat which is Nagra 3 paired, again requiring both Boxkey and RSAkey in order to use it. Pity i just sold my Polsat card which had both RSAKey and Boxkey to Captain Jack :D

My Conax Cas7 legitimate Canal Digital Nordic card is also box paired, but can use it in the Spiderbox HD 6000 card reader slot which has better picture quality over the official CD hd box and updates automatically in the SB.

Regards

Is much stuff on NC and Polsat in English or all in Polish? Do their dedicated receiver allow the change of audio language?
