Earthquake detection and predictions

So is the San Andreas, a 5.2 right where it's been stuck for many decades.

What is a megaquake if not higher than 9.9 on the usual magnitude scale ?
 
I suspect its just terminology for a major disaster - seeing as the report says worst case scenario 200,000 people could die in a big 8 or 9 quake in the area.

Not that many would die in the actual quake it's self, but those unable to escape the 20 to 40 foot tsunami that would arrive in 20 to 30 min would go by by.

Many coastal towns now have a tsunami warning system and escape routes planed out, it all depends on the time of the quake, very late at night would be bad, but something that size would definitely wake most up.
 
This one was a wake up call to those on the coast of Oregon.

If so then things are heating up again on the old light bulb.
And it looks like they added a new threshold, the orange line is the 500 MeV indicator, if that goes above the dotted line we are toast and back to the rock knives and axes stage.

Sun is acting up

A bit of sunspot activity lately, as long as the green line doesn't go above the dotted line we are OK. If it does then put your cell phones in a lead box.

but since there are link between energy releases and the impact on the land, why not ?

How is toast able to work with a knife ? I thought it was the other way round.

It should have been ""Stone knives and axes"" In other words it would knock us technology back before the iron age.
 
We got lucky (I think) that this one didn't trigger the big one, I will still make you sit up and take notice.

Is Mt. Rainer waking up?????? lots of small ones today. If it goes then so does Seattle. (and other places)
