hi can you help i just bought a echostar ad-3000ip viaccess with a 1 meter motorised dish powerd by a superjack harl 3012+ hq series and the pickup is a microtronics ap8-t2 on ebay for £100 hope this is good,my problem is i have no manual for the dish and i dont know what the name and colour of the wires so i can match them to the manual for the echostar hope someone can help
 
Hi, welcome to the forum.

Can you upload a snap of the connections inside the actuator? I don't know the particular model you have, whether it is optical or reed pulsing.

The back panel connections. It will be the area around the red and black spring type connections from memory - Ive got one but its all wired up under the telly!
 
thanks i have m1+m2 i think they are the power for the motor / m pulse,+5v,gnd,skew and separately ferrite + - the wires are blue/brown i think are the power to the motor m1/m2 then single core small yellow brown green and unsheathed copper and not used by the the guy who sold it to me small again white blue red orange and plain copper again thanks for your help
 
You will have to see where they are attached on the motor, make a note of the colours and where they are attached and match them up to the receiver.
 
It's fairly important not to mix up/incorrectly connect the power and sensor cables with each other.

The yellow/brown/green cable will most probably have been for a polariser (ferrite or mechanical) on earlier type LNBs.

The only ones you will need are for the motor (blue/brown) and the 4-wire cable. Only two of those wires will be needed for the meter pulse connection on the Echostar if your actuator uses a reed sensor, one to the meter pulse terminal and one to the ground terminal. The plain copper wire will go to the ground terminal also.

An extra wire will be needed (use the red one) if your actuator has an optical sensor. This will go on the +5V terminal of the Echostar.

As Mickha said, it remains for you to check the connections on the actuator and how they are labelled - you only get one chance of getting the wiring right, any mis-wiring will damage your equipment!
