Echostar AD-3000IP error when searching for Turksat1C 42E channels

Hi All,

This is my first post on these forums, so apologies if this is in the wrong section, but after some searching and looking, I thought this was the best place. (Mods, please feel free to move to another section).

I have had the Echostar box lised above for over 10 years now, and used to receive all the turkish channels on analogue, but now they have all switched to digital. I have a motorised dish, but it is constantly at 0.42E to pick up Turksat1C.

My problem is, recently, whenever I have gone into the menu for:
Installation > Advanced Installation > Edit/Add Sat or TP and entered details for new channels found at www.anten.de, once I have inputted all the details such as frequency, SR and FEC, done the search. The channels are found, but don't show.

This never used to happen before, only in the last 2 weeks. I onyl have a basic knowledge of the receiver and don't want to start fiddling or searching for different things.

Does anyone have any knowledge on this or has seen and dealt with this kind of problem before?

Any help would be much appreciated, as I cannot install any new channels.

Thats typical behavior of the memory being full. Delete some channels / transponders from satellite you dont use and scan again.

Remember - thats an old receiver - the channel capacity is only a few thousand unlike the receivers today that have more or less unlimited capacity!
 
aha...that could be it! i will give it a go, but i only have about 19 channels on TurkSat at the moment, so am baffled as to why when i add a new sat/tp the channels show as scrambled (even when they are not, and have two full blue bars of reception) or they just show the same 3 channels (cine 5, gala and a random music channel).

p.s. when you say delete channels/transponders, what exactly do you mean?
my dish is motorised, so i can turn it to Astra, Hotbird, EutalSat etc...but i never use them. Should I try deleting an actual satellite then going back to TurkSat and searching?
 
Choose a satellite you don't visit often, go to Menu - 3 - 5 and delete any transponders you don't need. This will clear the memory up and then you can try scanning Turksat again.

Apologies, just seen this thread.

From experience witht he AD3000, there are some issues that are directly attributed to a couple of Turkish channels falling outside DVB broadcast parameters.

The Echostar (and a couple of other machines of the same era), has trouble resolving the MPEG stream correctly and this can affect the operation of the receiver once the data has been entered into the memory.

From what I recall, I would clear down the satellite from the memory and only install some of the main 42E transponders manually.
 
Hi Guys,

I have taken heed of all the advice given and have managed to load all of the transponders manually to get all of the channels, so thank you all very much for your help and input on that.

Next question...my friends and family also have turkish satellites (although the make of receiver and dish i do not know), and they pick up many more channels than me. So, is there a way of doing a search on just the Turksat 42E satellite to automatically update it with all the latest transponders?

Do they live near you or in another country further East ?
