Hi,
I am having problems with my AD 3000IP , for no apparent reason certain channels have appeared with strange symbols instead of words and I have lost over half my programmes and transponders .
Ant ideas what I can do ?

Can't say for sure ..but it sounds like either a failing or corrupt memory chip ...
Or possibly corruption of the chips contents due to failing smoothing electrolytic capacitors in the power supply ..
I suggest powering down and unplugging at the mains ..
Leave for a few hours to make sure no capacitors are holding a charge ..
Remove the lid and inspect all electrolytic capacitors for domed tops ...oozing or leaking electrolyte ...
If you spot any that look suspect either replace them with capacitors of the same voltage or higher ..
& The same value of capacitance ...or..
If you find any suspect and aren't confident to do this work ..
Take it to a repair shop.
Failing capacitors ..particularly in power supplies can be responsible for a whole range of problems ..
Often you will see a shaded 'hum bar' travelling up or down the displayed TV image.

Hmm - Sounds like the old corrupted eeprom problem

Try could try doing a factory reset and full rescan.

You can also get strange problems on these boxes if the memory fills completely up so try not to scan all the transponders on all the satellites you have access to - just scan the ones you actually need. (eg if you dont have a Sky Italy subscription dont scan the encrypted Sky Italy frequencies).

If you have reached the memory limit (around 2000 channels - TV/Radio combined) then this can give trouble

You can master clear and start again to check you haven't filled the receiver with obselete data, but if it reoccurs then you should consider a new digital receiver. and use the AD3000 in piggyback mode just for the positioning and the remaining analogue stuff.
