Been playing with the Edision today: It has an inbuilt DLNA Client which runs in the background automatically upon Box start.

Bunged Bubbleupnp app. on my Android Tablet, selected VLC as player and I can stream live TV from the Edision without issue!

You can change Channel from the Tablet, but it pauses five seconds and, if the main telly is on, it brings up on the telly a warning that the remote device wants to change the channel, so SWMBO can reject it if she's watching summat.

Brill.

Worst job has been getting rid of all the default Favourites lists and creating my own.

Got to change my dish motor control over when it stops raining, as I've moved the box into the lounge: Needs a quick trip up on the boiler house roof to swop to cable connections. I'll then check that the DLNA channel change works between Satellites. I guess it will, as it's commanding the Primo in the same way as a local channel change.

I've re-instated a separate 1m motorised dish for my play room, as well.

That might stream any 4.2.2 content also...

Do you need a full license for this to stream from the box to the tablet? I can only seem to stream from the tablet to the Edison...unless I'm doing something wrong! Tell me how you did it?

All I did was open Bubble, click on Library, click on Local and Cloud, select the Fixed IP address for the Edision then Live Stream. No licence, or any other unpleasantness.

From the resulting Library Lists (All the stored Channels appear as links) I just clicked one and bob's your uncle.

Asks for a Media Player, so selected VLC Always. Done.

I might not have remembered these steps exactly, but I'm normally someone who can never get clever stuff to work and shout at it for hours: This, however, was a piece of p*ss.

..... also works a treat with my Foxsat HDR !

Grrrr, got the channel list now, clicked on one and got 'Action Failed' code 501. Did you tweak anything in VLC?

Finger trouble? Can't see anything but my own quoted Post!

No.

Did it get as far as asking you what you wanted to play the file with?

If not, or you cocked it up, clear Bubbles Settings in the Android Apps section and start again.

Maybe reboot the Primo?

I've Googled this and the problem might well lie with the device ....

Maybe try MX Player instead of VLC?

Yes, got rid of VLC and will try MXPlayer, I always have trouble with Andriod, don't think it like me!

Can't believe this went right for me!

Done it. Now working with VLC. I will look for 4.2.2 feed to see if that works...

Well done.

re: Streaming, Bubble does actually have restrictions without a Licence. They don't affect my likely use (eg max. 30mins before starting again etc.) , but the Licence is only £2.99 for those who want to make extensive use of it.

Actually, I went straight into VLC and got working from there, will delete Bubble later and see if it still works ok in VLC. The progs maybe talking to each other though...
