who owns an EGIS system? I would like to know how the sensors are built: single pulse REED or optical or HALL?
double pulse with 2 phase shifted signals like incremental sensors?
what supply voltage for sensors and motors?
does anyone have the technical manual?

From memory the original Egis design was passive, but with the ability to have powered sensor units.

I tell you what I know. In the external unit (motor) there is a board having a JRC branded chip that provide the power to the sensors. I believe that sensors are optical but not sure.
This little board is 24 volt powered from the internal console. The same for both motors: 24 volt each.
This is my personal memory from 3 EGIS that I had in my life. Hoping this helps.

Except FEMI nobody has an egis rotor ??
Feedsat bought one long time ago from me .
Here the pics of drawings I once made .
The sensorboard is in the back of the motor

an interface card for EGIS EPR103 is being produced. this will allow to control an EGIS with my positioner. (equipped with 24V instead of 36V)

is anyone ready to lend an egis EPR103?
I do not have any.
but if i can work on it i will send it back later and make a deal with the owner of EGIS.

I made an agreement with TRUST.
i will work on an egis set in a few weeks .
does HugoCZ still working on his EGIS project ?
he doesnt post anything since 2020 !

This is from 2022:

I tested my interface for two-track incremental encoder (egis or omron E6B2CWZ6C encoder).
it's perfect with my model at 2000 pulses per revolution I get 4000 pulses per 360°, if I count the rising and falling edges I could have 8000 per revolution, so a definition of 0.045 degrees (much more than useful!!).
it remains to design a correct coupling between the encoder and the polar axis of the mount.
here is a scan of the signals

doubleur2a.jpg

on the right the counting of pulses for one revolution
on omron E6B2CWZ6C there is a third track with one pulse per tour , useful for resetting the position !
in FRANCE this product is sell 300euros !!!!!!!! on ali it s 30 to 50 euros .

who is interested in an egis motor positioner?
I'm talking about my positioner with management of the lnb changer, skew, remote control, 240 positions etc...

Did the Egis rotor come to you ?

yes thanks ! i have got it Wednesday .
i begin to work on it this afternoon.
i m checking the FEMI schematic (or yours ??) i find some minors differences .

I have redrawn the electrical schematic of the EGIS motor connection board.
There are some differences with the schematic published by TRUST and FEMI.
There are all these lightning arrestors in series with the F4 fuse.
In the EPR103 there is detection of this blown fuse.
I will connect my interface card to the motor and the link to the positioner will be the same as a classic mount.
