i have to make some adapters to use an old LNB : i set the sf8008 as universal lnb (tone for band select) .
i juste change the OL values .
i want to keep 14/18V as polar change .
i detect 22k to change power supply for old lnb .
i keep 14/18 to change polarotor value .

to make some test with PLL lnb on my prime focus i made some aluminium pieces , i dont make change on original lnb just
put a aluminium ring stuck in the horn.

Are there people who use a mechanical polarotor?
in KU band?
Which LNB: OL=9.75-10.75 band select 14/18V or OL 9.75-10.6 band select 22khz?

On my EGIS installation I am going to put a mechanical polarotor and a 9.75/10.75 LNB and I am going to add a small interface to control this LNB with 22Khz.
Does this interest anyone?

Not so long time ago I've got this LNB for PFA with mechanical polarizer. It changes H to Y by applying some DC voltage to the motor. IMG_20240422_184734.jpg

Nowadays it only makes sense to have/use OL 9.75-10.6 I think. But since you are making "something unique & special", ideal would be a choice.

I designed this small assembly so that an old LNB (9.75/10.75 -14/18V) + mechanical polarotor can be recognized by the sf8008 as a universal LNB with OL 9.75/10.75 instead of 9.75/10.6.
It works very well, you have to adjust the two polar values at each satellite position.

here is the schematic
adaptoldlnb.jpg
if someone can gives me advice about L2 L3 C7 values .
i dont have active splitter or opened devices to see similar values .

when sf8008 send 22k (high band) , 22k is detect in posi and send 18V to L3 .
when there is no 22k signal posi send 13V to L3.
sf8008 send also 14/18v ,posi use this to manage polarotor (no change to L3).

The larger dish in the garden has a Co-Rotor which uses the same circuitry for both C and Ku band.
