hi i installed a sky + box the other day and had a lot of interference it was the same on scart an rf. tried changing leads but no good. the cable run from the dish to the receiver ran along side power cables for a good way and i found once i moved them it improved. i thought that being digital it would not matter if they ran next to power cable but it seems it did in this case.
 
It all depends how good the shielding within the signal cable is, and how much noise comes from the electric cables
 
You should never trace mains cables with low power cables/wires of any kind over any distance and avoid short runs, you are doing more than induce spurious RF onto the cable... you are inducing.. currant.:eek:. that's how a transformer works!
