email error, to where ?

I've been awaiting a few messages from an old asssociate in the business.

turns out after a few days of head scratching they have sent some confidential and time important info to


xxxxxxxx@brconnect.com, as opposed to xxxxxxx@btconnect.com

Looking at whois

brconnect.com whois lookup - who.is there is scant detail in the registrant/registrar.

How do I gain more info on the domain sitter ? since the site is up for sale and I am probably not the only one to have a btconnect account with messages ending up in their in box .

They seem to be the host

This page Whois brconnect.com says it's registered with godaddy and list a guy called Bill as the owner
His email and contact info is on there

If the admin uses a *@xxx.com mailbox, the other side will never find out that they made a mistake!

Thanks, and yes, nothing bounced back which is why nothing was presumed missing until three weeks later.

I'm slightly concerned over the confidential data that is now out there, a nod to encrypting emails from now on perhaps.

I would be inclined to leave well alone, that type of URL is often used for phishing purposes, so possibly owned by a chancer, you'll probably find that emails received from non-registered email accounts on that domain are black holed and in this instance, that's the best place for them.
