because everybody have enough of dodgy systems in costa blanca ,but i know a massive group of ppl buying the system to card share it :D

Sure? I haven´t met anyone sharing this card so far.

I've read on some other site that BBC has taken legal actions against the company uplinking the signals to cancel all transmissions.

These people must be really stupid if they can get away with this not getting noticed by authorities.

Well that wouldn't be a surprise.

Where did you see this report?

They think they can get away with it either because they are deluding themselves, or they actually know it'll all go belly up at some point but by then the coffers are full.

i forgot to make a comment about the receiver ..just one word "CRAP",if you see the backside picture it has no scart nor hdmi and the video quality is just SH**,in my tests i used a Cuberevo 3000HD ,kathrein UFS910(best video signal) and as shown in my fotos TT3200 pci satcard

It doesn't even have SCART, just composite.

What a joke...

Telia, advert removed, advertisers have to pay the going rate ;)

Only europe has scart the rest of the world has phono outputs and s-video outputs.

would have though it would be a whole consortium of channels that would take action....presumably they would take action against intelsat, who would inturn take action against the uplinker....
although why cant intelsat just remove the channels straight away as they are clearing in breach of copyright...

no body toke any action as yet,(if you dont see it as a headline on an oficial news paper dont beleive it its all bull ,this rumore is defused by some terrestrial rebroadcasting companies down here in the costas because this will kill their bussiness for good... its going to be hard to take the transmission down beause is private encrypted data and it doesnt transmit any nit data ,this is typical from england why dont they open the transmission to whole europe so we wont see criminal activities like this ,too much restrictions will bring crime

Its no problem at all to take the transmission down - the Beeb serve Intelsat with the appropriate legal document & Intelsat either order their uplink station to stop transmitting it, or if its uplinked by private means switch the transponder off.

The BBC ITV etc CANT transmit to the whole of Europe - they dont have the broadcast rights. They could be renegotiated but would be horribly expensive.

Then encrypt the damn channels... That's all...
Encrypted versions could be on 28E or other satellite, Freesat versions on 2D would stay like that - FTA...
I think many people on Europe (including myself) would be interested, pay, for example 10 pounds a month, to see BBC1,2,3,4, ITV & Other terrestrials...

You dont understand - even if the services are encrypted - the Beeb CANT sell subs to johnny foreigner across the English Channel. They dont have the rights to. It would be exactly the same scenario as the one that stops Uncle Murdoch selling Sky subs in Spain Latvia or Bongobongoland

And why should the UK population pay their licence fee money just so a few hundred thousand expats can watch our programmes? You want our programmes so badly come and live in the UK :D

The small amount of revenue generated could never cover the astronomical costs involved

And Intelsat would throw out of the window a few hundred thousands euros in this global recession period.
This is,with all respect, the difference between a business mind and a council worker.

Yeah encryption would be the best, don't understand why they are so stubborn with FTA.

The lost potential revenue wouldn't come anywhere near compensating for the potential legal costs when they get sued by the various Rights Holders!

A few hundred thousand Euros is pocket money to Intelsat and nothing compared to the contracts they will have with the BBC / ITV to carry dtt muxes to the transmitters ;)

Who would they rather annoy - some tinpot little company thats not going to be here in 6 months time or the BBC??

Anyway loss of a small contract has never stopped any sat company when ordered to - the Tamil Tigers TV station has been taken down several times in the last 5 years due to the terrorism links and similarly for Al Manar.

In this case I'm with the council worker........... No self respecting business man is going to draw up a business plan, the basis of which is to transmit FTA programs to the rest of one hemisphere via satellite knowing that they have no authority or license to do so. It is a fundamentally flawed business plan, because sooner or later the authorities will catch up with them.

Who is the uplinker?

Well, maybe we could toss them ITV2/ITV2+1 and (for 50p lifetime membership), Living TV. :)
