End of feedhunting?

It's been reported in wotsat that the end may be nigh for some feedhunters.During the Royal Wedding it has been reported the the Beeb were using sat trucks with a short microwave link to internet nodes which in turn sent the feed down the net to the mcr.So it looks like they shall use this method for the olympics meaning a reduction in feeds.Regards.:mad:
 
I was still getting plenty of feeds for the Wedding, most were the same as the BBC
 
It'll be years before satellite links disappear from our satellites. They may reduce from industrialised countries but it will be a VERY long time before wifi links are available in poorer countries.
 
Correct but it is the beginning.Also they would find it hard to obtain a link in the Highlands etc.
 
A bit off topic, but do you still have your qualitv receiver or are you as guilty as everybody else for not updating their kit list? I wondered because with more & more HD channels switching to DVB-S2 it must feel like a bit of a redundant bit of kit.

Cheers bud, I wouldnt be surprised if it was the PSU, the early HD receivers ran hot enough to do the Sunday morning fry up on, The Humax was a Halogen Oven!
 
That's the second time it's gone.It's now up in the loft with the BSB,nokia 9600,pace 508i,and a few others.
 
Dont get me started on the nostalgic road, thats one of the main reasons I bought the 80cm ISS dish I have for my multi LNB setup, it reminded me of the old Grey Fidelity perforated dishes from circa 1988. As the Bowling for Soup song 1985 go's "...and music still on MTV." Spot on, as opposed to f**king reality show's about idiot teen moms.

Was watching the Germany game on Das Erste HD on 19E just there & for the game only being 720P it pis*ed in the eye of the current Sky Sports HD standard hands down. Seeing your a Rangers man & have that small dish of yours perhaps you can answer me this why have so many pubs local to me got Penta 85cm (Bear in mind performs like a 1 Meter) aimed at 26E from what I've been told the only 3pm SPL's you get are the sh*t ones like St Mirren v Hearts live from the Methodome!
 
I don't think it will be BADR 6 as that is not viewable from our area.Are you sure it's 26* east?Nothing on BADR5.Could be for KTV which showed THE RANGERS last season.
 
Is it not Saudi Sports on Badr 4?

Yes mate, defo on 26E (Years of nosing around at other peoples setups!:)) I dont see the point of paying out between £300 to £400 for a fixed dish install on this bird for 3pm SPL matches of limited appeal & in Arabic not your average jake balls first lingo!:p

What's been on there of interest in the last 5 to 6 months (That's when I seen the first one of these Penta's going up)?
 
That's the only channels that had us on last season.Correction you are right fergyc.
 
Everyone bar us and the funny mob.Although the last couple of games were on Betorium Hellas sat 39* East.Battery going flat now.Be back later when I'v watched Uncle Walter.
