Have someone got webif to work with windows vista (ultimate). I have Gemini4.10 installed on my DM7020 and as soon as I type the DM adress in the explorer (http//192.168.X.X on internet explorer or firefox) I get the message Waiting for 192.168.X.X and that's all...
I have to notice that the networking is OK ie I can telnet the DM without problem.

when using windows XP from the same PC (dualboot) webif is working without problems.

Any advice please.

Yes, Vista does that fine, but I'm using an older version of Gemini. Try a different image to prove your setup is OK.

Have tried with nabilo image and got the same problem.
I'll investigate the wlan issue since vista seems to have problems with wireless connections (have a wireless speedtouch router) . I'll come back with results.

Solved. It was the wlan issue with vista.

Have someone an explanation of this wlan issue with vista:

My PC is "wirelessely" connected to my router (speedtouch 585) and my router is directly (wired) connected to my DM7020 : with this configuration webinterface isn't working (message : waiting for 192.168.xx.xx and that's all...).

When connecting my pc directly (wired connection) to my router, webinterface works.

I have to notice that with windows XP both configurations are OK.

Can you ping the Dreambox? Is it a wireless router and a wired router or just the wireless one?

Have you tried with your firewall off?

Can you browser it from Windows Explorer using \\192.168.n.n ?

Seems to imply that Vista can't see a Linux box.

I don't think so, since vista can see my DM if i connect my PC running vista to my router wirely (not wirelessly).

Ah but Vista is built so securely that unless your wireless router is Vista approved or upgraded to a Vista version of the firmware it blocks all sorts of (what it considers ) potential threats by blocking off ports. A work collegue spend 3 days trying to sort out a new Vista laptop which was fine at the MD's house (Vista approved wireless router) but at work would stop him accessing web sites pages and applications (non approved wireless router) yet with a direct cable connection was no problem. Bought an up to date wireless router and all was OK. Your experiences do seem to have some similarities to this scenario

You are right Topper. It works. Had to upgrade my router to the latest firmware (vista approved) and now everything is OK. Thanks again for helping.

Cool. Something to file away in the old memory banks for future use.

Vista/Enigma is fine for me over wireless via a shitty old WAP, so I guess it's just pot luck.

I think it is the speedtouch that is the problem.

Had one (from my ISP) and it was nothing but trouble

Change to Netgear and Presto

To be fair against Speedtouch, it have never caused to me any trouble since 2 years now except this vista matter wich is now fixed.
