I have two enigma2 receivers, one Vu+ Duo4KSE and one Dreambox DM920, Openatv 7.1 image installed on both.
Do you know such way to enter transponder parameters and view channels without previously loading all services?
Maybe an example could explain better my question.
I find a feed, so I want to get it immediately introducing frequency, polarity and symbol rate with remote or via web interface, without going through menus and menus, loading it in memory and finally search the new channel in a long list in which it could be not so easy to find it fastly.
This is the operation that I make everyday using EBSPro and VLC in my computer: I tune the transponder entering its parameters, and once locked I can immediately view its content by VLC.
The same operation can be made in professional receivers like RX8200 or similar.
Any chance to perform this in enigma2 boxes? Maybe via telnet? Thanks.

You can use dreamboxedit, to download your channel list, save it, then add/edit channels, add/edit boquets, and do various other things, before uploading it back to your receivers.

Openvix is a very good image that I used for two years in my Vu+.
However, now I switched to Openatv because the same image can be installed in DM920 too, and it is very convenient having the same image (so the same menu, the same configuration) in both receivers.
I do not remember if signal finder is present in Openatv too, I must check.

Yes I thought to Dreamboxedit (I use Dreamset but it is the same).
I suspect that setting a new channels in this way, all parameters including pids, sid, nit and so on are needed, not only frequency, polarity and symbol rate. Am I wrong?

OpenATV has signal finder, it's a standard Enigma2 feature.

For 7mdish :D
Plugin runs directly on the box, the satellites.xml can be completely edited and saved again.1_0_19_283D_3FB_1_C00000_0_0_0_20221112155047.jpg

Signal finder is almost present in all enigma2 images. In my opinion, the best option is to remap some keys of your remote in order to use scanning options such as signal finder, manual scan or blind scan. Keys can be remapped in all enigma2 images too and it is easy to configure. For example you can usersignal finder by pressing yellow button etc....

Hope that it helps

I might be completely imagining this, but years ago before HD Dreamboxes came out there was a picture in picture function that could be used as a quick scan system on the same satellite as the primary channel being viewed.

(Long press blue button ?)
