Hi all

Need some help please - I have obtained another PACE 2600 C1 for my house in Spain, the box has not been used for some 6 months and is on an older version of EPG 3.2.11 I have tried many forced updates - no joy. Tried leaving in on for 6 weeks - no joy. Brought it back to the UK and tried all over again still no joy. Can I update/download the EPG any other way? I do have another identical box here in the UK (which is on the correct EPG 3.7.6) can I perhaps upload this boxes EPG to a laptop and then download it to the problem one.

Welcome to the forum 99peter

No sorry Sky deliberately made all of their boxes OTA up date only thus it could be the box has developed a fault. When you were back in the UK what forced method were you using?
In Spain you may have to change the default transponder as in some areas of Spain you will not be able to receive the default transponder.

Hi Topper

Thanks for the post - I've used the standard 11.778 and also 12.129. The forced updated is the unplug - hold back up button in - 4 lights come on - updating system software 10mins.

Is it because the EPG is so out of date and must wait for a FULL broadcast download. Can I plug this box back into the telephone and force a complete download that way.

The only thing I can think of is that they must update in series and therefore if it has missed three updates it must be repeated 3 times, other than that a memory chip on the box has gone faulty.

This is quite common and the only thing you can do is wait. Leave it connected to a dish at all times. Eventually the 2600 software will be sent out again and it should update automatically. Forced updates do not work and there is no other method to get the latest software.
I have an identical box witht the same problem, it was stuck in someone's loft for a few years. Only gets the Sky EPG up to channel 150.
Forced update only works on current models such as the HD boxes. The update stream is always available for these. Older boxes get very infrequent updates.

one client had the same issue - they left it turned on for 3 weeks until the box self updated!

I had to leave my Sky+ PACE 3100 on for months before it became up to date with the latest software. It seemed like it did it from version to version so all the bugs were also present from time to time ;-)

Forced updates didn't work (as said above that the software streams are changed for different models at different times) so its only a matter of time...
