My Satellite Setup
Spiderbox 9000
My Location
n.Ireland
im in belfast, have a sky dish approx 70cm wide x 60cm high and a spiderbox 9000

is dish ok for a monoblock or what can you advise please

Well the fist question is "What are you hoping to achieve with a monobloc?"

Just about, although those dishes are not designed for monoblocs, nor standard LNBs and a 6 degree monobloc is designed for an 80/90cm dish, so the focus will also be slightly out on one of the satellites.

Not necessarily, an 80cm dish with a monobloc would be fine.

Sorry you lost me based upon your post #3

do i use my existing sky lnb or is it 3 new ones cause diff dish

Are you asking about catching
a. Three satellites with one dish and three new lnbs?
b. Three satellites with one dish existing sky lnb and one 6 degree monobloc
c. Three satellites with one dish existing sky lnb and two new lnbs?
d. Two satellites one dish with two lnbs?
e, Two satellites one dish with one 5 deg monobloc?

Please clarify

Ah, so you want 28.2, 19.2 and 13 East, you should be able to get all three on an 80 or 90cm dish, you would have to use an offset LNB bracket and three LNBs, or you can buy a dish with it already set up, include 23.5 east _http://www.sateuropa.co.uk/product_overview.asp?prod=TELESTAR-PROFIRAPID-MULTIFEED&id=1555&catid=12&subcat=2

Hi sorry im not making much sense - just been reading up loads and trying to pretend i know what im talking about!

I think its your option B im looking at - basically is my dish good enough to enalbe me to keep my sky lnb as it is and add a 6 degree monobloc to catch 19.2 and 13 East?

Thanks Rolfw for suggestion - but would i be right in saying i could go motorized for cheaper?

Not necessarily cheaper, the cost of the motor is probably the same as the additional stuff required to get just four satellites, however a motorised system is going to give you far more satellites overall if set up correctly.

There are so many variables though to achieving this, the mount will almost certainly have to be changed (for better rigidity) and then the location may not be ideal for the best East/West arc (maximum coverage). Really, only an installer on site will be able to tell you what works best and how much it will all cost.
