Hello and may I say what a nice place U've got here. My first post ever :) Sorry its about a problem but I feell that I exausted all other possibilities.

I am in no way new to the dreambox but recently I have encountered a problem which I can not solve. I think I have install more then 400 boxes to ppl and when it comes to geting the box to the internet I usually take off DHCP and assign some high IP within local pool.

Lets say router admin has 192.168.1.1 address and I usualy assign 192.168.1.9 to dream and try to give it static IP so that port forwarding will be static as well. Yesterday I got 2 DM500S boxes which both got 10.0.0.97 IP that coudnt be changed weather DHCp is on or off. Both networks have all other devices with 192.168.1.X adresses.

Funny thing is that if activate network function is turned off they get right IP ( either autoassigned by DHCP or static from before) but then router can not see them. They also get right IP's if I put both activate network and online test to ON but they are still unvisible on router admin.

Both boxes have been replaced by Dm800 and turned back as in DM800 used their network cable if that makes any sence.

When I say right IP I also mean right nameserver and so on but when its wrong its using 127.0.0.1...

I tried many solutions including new cable and tweaking anything that I could think off without any result. I am starting to worry if this has anything to do with possibility of them being fake? Has anyone heared of ethernet problems with fake boxes ? Both boxes are bought in respected sat shops...

Thanks in advance.

Regards from Norway

Welcome to the forum :)

To summarise, you are unable to change either IP addresses to anything else?

How much space is left in /var?

You can check if they are fake by reading their MAC address? There are a few posts here about how to read them and which ones are fake/ real (search should find them).
