Eurobird 1 Problems?

1m motorized & Humax IRCI5400
My Location

I seem to have problems picking up some of the Eurobird 1 channels - namely Military History (Channel 531). Other channels on the same transponder 12643.00 V 2/3 27500 also seem to be down. Other channels on Eurobird 1 are absolutely fine (85% signal strength/90% signal quality). Anyone else had the same?

Sorry - missed the response here. Tried turning off DECT phones, got the meter out and it seemed to work again! Very strange. When I phoned Sky up, they said they were having intermittent problems with certain channels, but that was more a card issue than satellite issue.
 
Yes-I was outside tweaking my LNB last week because of this transponder.Its fine now,albeit only 30% strength,and 40% quality.:)
 
Reviving this old thread.

Eurobird 1 uses both H and V on the same frequencies. That means that skew is very critical. Don't align on a Eurobird 1 transponder as it gives a false reading on crude meters or STBs when adjusting the skew.
 
how would you suggest aligning for Eurobird 1? as it is the weakest signal if I was to align to 28.2 it would be unlikely to be optimal for the Eurobird channels
 
Only important if you are planning to use a very big dish. The 0.3 degree difference is of no consequence on normal sized dishes.
 
Exactly, although saying that, I do peak up here on 11428h EB1 for use with freesat receivers.

What dish size are you using?

Thanks for the replies, am only using 1.1m Dish. but am aware a slight movement sat position needed to get certain channels.
