Eurobird 9 No or Bad Signal......

My Satellite Setup
Technomate TM5402CI. TM2600 Motor, Sat Gear 80cm dish, coathanger and Araldite.
My Location
Middlesex
Anyone else getting this? It was fine last night, but i can only get certain
channels this morning. Anyone out there withany ideas?

Hello Matey, i'm getting SOME stonking signals as well - up at 97/70%. Can't get channel 46 though...... Real Madrid TV.
It was there last night...... just getting No or Bad signal now. Boo hoo hoo.
 
Think they may have switched transponders. Try scanning 12054H, S/R 27,500, FEC 2/3, DVB S2, 8PSK. I've got it on there.

Hi SP,

no joy. Don't appear to have TP12.054 S/R 27.500
The nearest i have on the listing for EB9 is 12.096/27.476.
 
There are 3 channels on TP12.096 Parlemento, aieta and RM TV. Can't get any of them on this TP. Just looked at Lyngsat
and RMTV looks tobe on 12092 tp69.... really gettiing confused now. doesn't look like i can manually load or search for a new TP.
 
12092 and 12096 are the same TP .............. TPs are 20 odd MHz wide and the centre-frequencies are often reported slightly differently on different listings sites and on blind scans on different receivers.

Similary SR 27476 is the nominal SR 27500 usually listed


That said, 12092/12096 is now empty since RM moved to 12054, as per Sonnetpete's`earlier post.

You certainly can add the latter TP, either manually or via Blind/Auto scan
 
The only problem being is that the transponder is DVB-S2 8PSK and the 5200d is standard definition.

Reading between the lines..... there may be trouble ahead......... LOLZ!! Presume this is gong to represent a problem!!

How do i manually add a TP? I've scoured the TM manual and it doesn't say anything about it.
 
It's in the advanced channel search section, at the bottom of the screen it shows green button for add TP.

The only problem is that standard definition receivers will not normally read 8PSK signals, only QPSK.

You may need to buy yourself a cheap HD receiver. The Ross HD from B&Q is pretty cheap.

i had a feeling someone was gonna say that!! Oh well, Looks like the TM5200D is going up on eBay!! I'll try and get the new TP before i rip everything
out, buti have a feeling that you guys, as invariably you tend to be, are right. Just going to have a nose on eBay!! Thats for the input Rolf.

had a quick nose and can get a TM500 Super for about 60 Sovs. Not too bad. The word worrying me here is 'Linux'....... don't know anythoing about this
or are all their HD boxes Linux?

Thought that receiver was SD not HD, so won't be any better. Why not call one of our supporting advertisers, they carry large ranges of receivers and will be able to advise on which one will fit the bill.

Ok - going to go with a TECHNOMATE TM5402 HD SUPER. Read some post regarding it here - seems to fit the bill. No i just need to
find it at the right price - unless anyone has a 2nd-hand one for sale here!!
 
Sounds like a good choice for around 134 pounds. Good luck with it.
