eurocam chip programming

Hi all,

im in the proccess of building up tools equipment etc for reprogramming the 29c040 flash from a eurocam with 180501 alphacrypt firmware.

before i go and get a zif socket for the tsop chipcan someone enlighten me a little as to what i can expect from the cam when its flashed ie what packages and different encryptions ?

ive managed to open the cam and desolder chip no problems so when ive sorted this maybe others in the group will want theres doing which im quite happy to do . the only prob i have is the spot weld on cam case

any helpon that would be appreciated as well

do you have a loading/programming utility that supports that chip type? What kind of programmer/device were you intending to use?

Alphacrypt is to all intents and puposes an AllCAM. IE for Irdeto and Betacrypt.

Check Lyngsat for the channels using those systems. Many providers use Irdeto, but several have switched (or are switching) to the new unhacked form, Irdeto-2. The STRSH (v35) irdeto hex files regularly released include a readme file with a list of those European providers still on Irdeto-1.
I believe the only ones using Betacrypt are the German Premiere World package (incl. the near-video-on-demand ppv film channels "Cinedom", alos the sports channels "Superdom" - and the Austrian provider ATV.

yep the programmer i am using will do these chips with the tsop to dil adapter

the main reason im looking at this as a project is it use as an allcam which brings me to another question

can this cam then be programmed with freecam and used also with seca, viacess ?

No, the FreeCAM2 firmwares used for such magic are only suitable for loading into the series-1 Irdeto CAMs, not the newer series-2 "Euro" CAMs. ALphacrypt CAMs are Euro CAMs.

Please tell us the details of the pogrammer and software/techniques you hope to be able to use.

As soon as i have recieved the TSOP to Dill adaptor i will post full details on how (if i do) acheaved this
