Euronews RIP as well?

So, Simply Movies disappeared last week, now EuroNews has been missing from Freesat Ch. 204 since the weekend.

Have tried a manual non-Freesat retune using the the 'old' settings (12560mhz, vert., 27500, 2/3) but still getting the 'no or bad signal' dialogue box from my Humax.

Has it gone as well or have they changed frequencies or similar? :confused:

Euronews is still on air - I was watching it last night.
 
Hmmm...maybe someone with a technical background could comment... on my system all 3 channels on this frequency (12560 mhz) - i.e., Euronews, Zone Thriller and Horse & Country TV (last one in Non-Freesat mode), seem to be offering about 5%-10% signal quality during the day (zilch on screen except for an error message and the odd quick burst of pixels), rising to about +/- 30% at night (lots of pixillation + sound drop). Signal strength is allegedly 100%.

All other signals in both Freesat and Non-Freesat mode (incl. all the Nigerian, Brazilian and Hot Essex Girls with a dodgy cordless phone stuff) are strength 100% and quality between about 50% and 100% with no reception problems. There are no electrical changes inside or adjacent to our house and no new structures have appeared in the last week.

Any ideas?

Do you have a DECT phone near the receiver?
 
Zone thriller , movies4men are the channels that i allways check when i do an installation as they allways give me trouble . Lots of jobs i've done all channels worked fine part from these few ... I suggest checking your dish , lnb .

Gottit, thanks Mariust5...any particular reason why this group of channels are a problem? (BTW, Movies4men and movies4men2 running at 70% quality this afternoon, about 5% quality on zone thriller and Euronnews....ho-hum)

I've always found that the Zone Thriller is a tad weaker than any of the other signals at 28.2/5E. Luxe HD also is a bit lower, tis the nature of the beast! All tp's are not equal :)

After all that, it was the LNB wot did it! Replaced by my brilliant local installer at no cost (was only up for 6 weeks...) and now getting 80-100% signal quality on all Freesat transmissions and at least 70% on my non-Freesat manually tuned stuff.

As I'm pretty new to the wonderful(?) world of satellite TV a follow-up question...do LNBs have a tendency to pack up easily or was I just unlucky? My UHF/VHF roof aerial array has been up for 10yrs of wind, rain, magpies roosting etc etc etc with no problems other than loose mountings...

It may have just been down to the conversion characteristics of your specific LNB: I had the same issue with poor reception of Press TV and other Channels up the top of the Band on my Foxsat.

After much agonising and blaming the Foxsat Tuner, I swopped the LNB with one from another of my Dishes and all was well. The old LNB performed impeccably when feeding a different Receiver.

So it is possible your LNB had not actually packed up, as such, but was exhibiting some undefinable incompatibility with the Receiver.

Generally they last several years, giving up the ghost only when the incumbent spider population reaches critical mass (Take one apart and you'll see what I mean!).
