Announced on New Years day

Discovery Communications and Eurosport holds the exclusive multimedia rights for 50 countries and territories (excludeing France 2018-2020) in Europe for the 2018 through the 2024 Olympic Games, announced with the International Olympic Committee in June 2015. Eurosport will be the Official Broadcaster in the UK 2018 and 2020. Excludes Russia.

The broadcaster has reached sublicence deals with public broadcasters in most European countries with the notable exception of Germany where ARD and ZDF could not reach a deal with Discovery. As a result, Eurosport will show the Olympics exclusively in Germany

Eurosport becomes new Home of the Olympics - Broadband TV News

So a dish pointing towards 19East may become standard in the UK - again.

Wave goodbye to the numerous bbc channels showing all the sports - thats a thing of the past :(

Is that supposition or has it been formally announced?

Hah! I can see a lot of unhappy people. What greediness does to you. Oh well, good thing it's still available on much, much cheaper packages around Europe....

I wonder just how quickly Freesat could add a bunch of channels to its EPG?

Does that mean vermin will keep the channels, and try and win some of sky's unhappy customers?

Sadly there is no cable option around Yeovil or Sherborne.

Just had a knock at the door (the doorbell was obviously beyond his capabilities) offering me VM at £23.95 per month for 12 months for TV, telephone and high speed internet, needless to say when I explained that my son had just felt the back of one of their offers to the tune of nearly £80.00 per month he beat a hasty retreat down the driveway

I doesn't always pay to combine multiple services.

But £80 a month is extortionate!

Mmm truthfully that was a ballpark figure it was actually £78 from memory

So with the loss of discovery network channels from the sky platform, will they lower the subscription prices?

Further, if someone joined specifically to watch one of those channels, will they allow a penalty-free withdrawal from the contract as they have changed the circumstances?

They will just open new channels , not very hard nowadays .. sky nature , sky history , sky ... whatever .. plenty of documentaries to buy .

Same scenario when MTV threatened to remove their channels a few years ago,
Then Kerrang,Scuzz,The Vault started fta & it all went quiet at MTV.
