Sorry for opening this thread after a long time but I've decided to go ahead and experiment with C-band channels in London from the Eutelsat 10A satellite. So now I have a 1.4m satellite dish from Mix Digital, C1 PLL Wideband LNBF, and a Technomate 5402 HD Satellite receiver. So far I've managed to get some channels with strong signals but not the ones I'm really interested in. The reception from the Chinese Mux (3649 L, DVB-S2, 20160-2/3 QPSK) comes in at about 45% with 12 channels but they're all encrypted. I also get DCLM (3688 R, DVB-S, 2592-3/4)channel with at about 65% although this channel seems to come on at certain times of the day. The channels I'm interested in are on the Ugandan Mux (3705 R, DVB-S2, 6250-5/6 8PSK) and the signal quality is about 11%. I've checked with Lyngsat and the C band beam reaches the UK at 40 EIRP dbw and a 1.25m dish should be enough to receive the channels. So my questions are: 1. Why I'm I able to receive some channels on the satellite but not others? Is it because different transponders have different power levels? and if so, do I need a bigger dish or a more powerful Satellite receiver or Tuner. 2. I've already been advised that I need a minimum of a 1.8m dish for C-band but Lyngstat states that I could receive C-band on Eutelsat 10A with 1.25m dish. Should I trust information from websites like Lyngsat? 3. Would a good TV Tuner be more powerful in receiving channels than the tuners that come on Satellite receiver boxes? 4. Do I need a better LNBF? I've ordered a C band LNBF (DMS BSC421) from the US. It's supposed to be one of the best LNBFs in receiving C-band. Thanks
