The satellite stopped at 50.5°E and renamed to Thaicom 9A, as placeholder for a future Thaicom satellite.

If normal procedures are followed "Thaicom 9A" is unlikely to even go on air. Its reserving a slot that was about to expire - nothing more. There is rarely any expectation of actually broadcasting from old satellites that are repurposed as slot holders. There may be a couple of brief test transmissions but dont expect transponders full of tv services to appear.
