Today 4 or 5 are available
also on astra 1 and hotbird

I believe this is the feed for digital terrestrial transmitters in Algeria.

DTT backhaul seems to be what 5°W is mainly used for other than Fransat!

This must have a sharp drop off as it moves north because it's always been available on demand on the south coast even on an 85CM dish. We use it a lot during the summer months to ID Algerian BII FM signals propagating via Sporadic E.

It's coming fairly well on my 1.30 although I'm on the edge of the footprint, but this frequency has lots of variation in strength, I've seen it from 8 to 12 db within 24 hours!

Some days I can pick up 11059 H 23700 on the 88cm dish another day no signal on the 100cm & not a cloud in the sky ?

This satellite is quite old now launched in July 2002 with a design life of 15 years due to be replaced in 2018 with a new satellite Eutelsat 5 West B we will probably not get this transmission on the new satellite as it has tight regional beams like Eutelsat 9B @ 9 east,

HotBird-10 currently idle @ 33.1° East as Eutelsat 33E Eutelsat 33E at 33.0°E - LyngSat may be moved here after July if Eutelsat 5 West A if this bird is low on fuel & power.

Its not as strong as other transponders at my location on the 1.2 but can lock it in all weather

Seeing this transponder in Scotland with 6db at the moment but it goes down to 4 dB sometimes.

22W 12673H is another Algerian mux but it doesn't have the complete radio line up that is carried on 5W.

Just noticed the 5°W steerable beam versions scanned in in TVHeadend a couple of weeks back around when this thread was created, without me having realised!

No lock today with very overcast weather, and I haven't had them before on my 80cm.

Clear and cold night here tonight! Getting lock at 4.9dB on these at the moment on my 80cm.

Not much better here with a 1.2 Adam, I cant fine tune though only have large steps with actuator, I need to install a new reed switch when I find time.

It's very strange how they're coming through at all here! I've had the transponder in my list for two years now; TVHeadend scans it twice a day and I've only seen any sign of lock (rather than "Scan Failed") in the last month or so, as if something has changed. Last night was the first time I've actually managed to see the channels. Maybe they've upped the power a little?
