EUTELSAT 8 West B, a new high capacity spacecraft, will be launched in 2015 * to 8° West, joining satellites already operated at the adjacent 7° West position by Eutelsat and the Egyptian satellite company, Nilesat

EUTELSAT 8 West B will be equippedwith 40 operational Ku-band transponders designed primarily to serve Direct-To-Home markets in North Africa and the Middle East.
It will also introduce a C-band mission to 8° West, with 10 operational transponders connected to footprints covering the African continent and reaching west to South America.

The launch of EUTELSAT 8 West B, has been moved 3 days earlier, at August 18.
 
Eutelsat 8 West B will be delivered to the Ariane launch site in mid-July for launch on 18 August. It will go into full commercial service on 1 October following checks to validate its performance in space. It will carry 30 Ku-band transponders with capacity for an additional 180 HD channels.

PALO ALTO, Calif. – July 20, 2015 —Space Systems/Loral, LLC (SSL) today announced that the Intelsat 34 satellite, designed and built for Intelsat S.A (NYSE: I), has arrived at the European Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, where it will be launched aboard an Ariane 5 launch vehicle by Arianespace. Intelsat 34 is the 50th satellite that SSL has provided to Intelsat.
