EUTELSAT 8 West B

Can get all the Horizontal beams here except 11055 H 17000 (although almost) but the Vertical ones (in the range 12500-12750 East Beam) are a no go.
Signal levels for the receivable ones are between 15 db to 16.5db.
Correction...Coming back to 11055H 17000....I could not lock this with two Dreamboxes using an Tuner BCM4505 BUT when I made use of the Alps Tuner, which I have inserted in one the DB 8000 Slots then it peaked in at 20db, with a 1.2 Dish:eek: Also when using DR.HD F15 with a 1 m Dish it came in with 15.5Cinema1.webp db.
Now it's raining and quite overcast and still coming in at 19.50db. Guess no amount of AGC applied can
stop from over saturating the BCM4505 and therefore rendering them incapable from locking this Freq.

Scan with the 1.2m only..........apologies, will sort out the different sats later, I hope:-

Exactly! Which means either the real footprint ends furthersouth or the footprint that was published is rubbish... what's more suprising about this orbital position though is that I receive 10719 and 11660 from 7WA for about 15 hours a day (mostly night)!
And even crazier, all Nilesat 201 frequencies come very well at about 8.5-10db 24/7!
Very disappointed with the new satellite, it's not the first time though! I can clearly recall when I lost all frequencies from AB4 when they moved to the 7WA MENA beam!

If you are just outside the official footprint, perhaps you are in a null? Those further away might be seeing a side lobe so the signal will be a little stronger.

Transponders switching pictures from my location.
The spectrum below 11700 MHz from 7-8°W is almost clear for me now. But I have increased signals in subband 12500-12750 MHz.

Edit : false info..all this trp are from 7,3 W - Eutelsat 7 West A .

Even so, this is still impressive, I don't receive these frequencies either!
So, no luck from 8WB?

Good signal 10971V, 10971H, 11012H, 11055H, 11096H, 11137H, 11179H
Weaker but receivable 12603H, 12644H
180 prime focus, western Finland

Are you sure, I have no signal, is it DVB-S?

Yes.

Many West 7.3 channels.
From Madrid I see two antenna positions if I want to win signal (7.3 and 8.0).

12645H27500 5/6 DVB-S2 6.0dB
The limit of the DVB-S2 HD channels pixelated much, much SD channels with BER (bit error rate) image ok, perfect.
Al limite del sintonizador DVB-S2, pixela mucho los canales HD, los canales SD con mucho BER (tasa de errores) imagen ok, perfectos.

An interesting TLE update:
Eutelsat 8 West B indeed seems located at 8.0°W or maybe 8.05°W.
Eutelsat 8 West A has left its location 8.07°W, and is moving West with 0.8° per day.

Here´s what I,ve got here on the 1.2 motorised. Measured on the VU+ SE which never reads higher than 14.9 so 11055H may be more

A statement from Eutelsat :

Paris, 3 October 2015 – Eutelsat Communications (NYSE Euronext Paris: ETL) announces that its new EUTELSAT 8 West B has been fully powered up and is already broadcasting TV channels to over 52 million homes in the Middle East and North Africa.

Launched on August 20 by an Ariane 5 rocket, the new high-power satellite is co-located with a constellation of satellites operated by Eutelsat and Nilesat at the 7/8 degrees West neighbourhood.

Working in close collaboration with clients, Eutelsat completed a seamless upgrade in the night of September 30 of over 210 television channels onto the new satellite from two Eutelsat satellites located at 7/8 degrees West. Both satellites are now being relocated, enabling Eutelsat to further optimise its fleet*. The additional capacity on EUTELSAT 8 West B will enable over a hundred further channels to be accommodated.

For the Arab and international broadcasting community the entry into service of EUTELSAT 8 West B marks a milestone in the growth story of the most popular satellite TV neighbourhood in the Middle East and North Africa, watched by 250 million viewers. Channels can benefit from increased power, more coverage options and higher in-orbit security, as well as a future-proof infrastructure for High Definition TV and Ultra HD. These features underpin the 100% success in sales of capacity connected to its Ku-band footprints stretching from Morocco to the Gulf.

EUTELSAT 8 West B also introduces C-band capacity to 7/8 degrees West, connected to footprints covering the African continent and reaching west to South America.

"We are delighted to see this prestigious satellite take its place at the 7/8 degrees West neighbourhood and to be able to further enhance the service we provide broadcasters and service providers in one of the world's most dynamic TV markets," said Michel de Rosen, Eutelsat Chairman and CEO. "EUTELSAT 8 West B, built by Thales Alenia Space, is one of the most sophisticated broadcasting satellites in orbit today and enables us to deploy new features that raise the game in terms of service, flexibility and signal quality."

* EUTELSAT 8 West A being redeployed to 12.5 degrees West. EUTELSAT 8 West C being redeployed to 33 degrees East.

ay am in nord est of tunisia (Tunis City)
Now have signal in the frequency 12604V27500 European Beam or New Steerable Beam (is not East Beam) !

EUTELSAT 8 WEST A renamed EUTELSAT 12 WEST B and EUTELSAT 8 WEST C renamed EUTELSAT 33D

From the look at that list it would seem that they intend to use most of the Ku band @ 8 west for DTH broadcasts with feeds moving to other Eutelsat satellites maybe 12.5 west along with E8WA moving to 12.5 west ?

That was a good guess :)

Soon to welcome Eutelsat 12 West B @ 12.5 west
& Eutelsat 33D @ 33 east
