16 E is quite weak @my place.
Eutelsat 9A had better signal, than 16e, although the footprints suggest, 16 E to be much nearer to Delhi than 9E.

It would be gud, if 16E can give a better coverage. Few gud english classic music channels on it, KCN 1,2 etc.

Faster now, already at 10.5°E, moving East 0.75° per day.

I reckon 16east. There seems to be nothing on the frequency charts between 11678H - 12508H (as per Lyngsat) Be good if this was opened up. I wonder cannot Eutelsat 16A broadcast in this band?

No 16A is only equipped for use of 10.7 to 11.7 + 12.5 to 12.75 part of the Ku band,
This part of the Ku band 11.7 to 12.5 was allocated to Amos-5 now out of control for Middle East use.

A real-time beacon scan.

9A 11704.00 beacon past 10E, probably 11.5E according to my positioner pulse count - trace of 13E TPs appearing already (dish's beam spread).

For me, very weak beacons on this bird. Difficult to locate and barely register.

So no one guessed correct.:)
And lets speculate where Hot Bird 13D will be moved! I still think 7/8W or 12.5W.
P.S. what is wrong with Hot Bird 13D that they replaced it?
P.S.S. changed my mind i dont want it moved to 12.5W

Have the 13D transponders been transferred to 13E already, then?

Wait a minute! According lyngsat 13D uses every range but 11700-12500... So...

Yes, but 13B, 13C and 13D have ALL 102 possible transponders of the entire band 10.7...12.75 GHz aboard.
So whatever 13D did, 13B or 13C can do as well.

Unlike 13E, that has several gaps (total 74 transponders).

Hope they dont collide against each other, as they all must be cramming up for space at the same spot. :-lol

As I thought that 13D was the same as 13B & 13C ?
Yes, as I understand it they are the same.
They each have 102 transponders so covering whole Ku-band, but max. 64 transponders can be active simultaneously.

Hot Bird 8, 9, 10 → Eutelsat Hot Bird 13B, 13C, 13D / Atlantic Bird 4A / Eutelsat 3C
"The satellite has been designed to cover all 102 Ku-band transponders/frequencies at 13° East which means that it can substitute any transponder on the other Hot Bird satellites."

Indian enthusiasts will be thrilled. Seeing as 9A's footprint easily covered a good chunk of the Indian subcontinent.
