No all channels are encrypted.

Even in Luzern/Switzerland on satfidu's 1.20m all frequencies have been lately received. Most of the time a big part of them is present.

source: _http://www.dishworld.de/thread.php?threadid=2342&threadview=0&hilight=&hilightuser=0&page=7

The reception in Western Europe is much easier since the Russia Beam of W4/W7 is too weak to disturb. -> partial frequency reuse !!

Hi all,

I hope this doesn't break any of the forum rules...

These posts are from my JKF archive... they are taken from the thread I started when I first reported finding these frequencies... I can't believe it's almost 2 years ago...

Hi again all,

The latest update is... I have managed to receive 3 more frequencies from this satellite...

11.881V [27500] ----- [Irdeto2]
11.958V [27500] ----- [Irdeto2]
11.996V [27500] ----- [Irdeto2]

All 3 frequencies are part of the Multichoice Africa package...

11.881V [27500] ----- 87% Signal Strength / 39% Signal Quality
11.958V [27500] ----- 85% Signal Strength / 39% Signal Quality

Unfortunately... 48% signal quality is the bare minimum on my receiver to be able to get a lock and download any channels... but the other frequency...

11.996V [27500] ----- 86% Signal Strength / 48% Signal Quality

I just had enough signal quality to be able to download a channel identifying itself as [TE10] this must be a test channel...

I have been regularly checking these frequencies on this satellite... and every now and then they have appeared clear for about 2-3 minutes... but you never know when this is going to happen...

All of the TV programme listings are showing up in my EPG on the channels I have already downloaded... I must say the sports channels have some really interesting Southern hemisphere content...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

Hi again all,

Just a quick update regarding...

11.996V [27500]

This frequency has ceased transmitting the test channel with ident [TE10] I have scanned this frequency again and it now has channel content... the channels I have downloaded from this frequency are...

Discovery HD Showcase [VPID 0122 / APID 0124 / PPID 0122]
iConcert HD [France] [VPID 0132 / APID 0134 / PPID 0132]
TVCine 4 HD [Portugal] [VPID 0142 / APID 0144 / PPID 0142]

All three channels are Irdeto 2 encrypted...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

Hi again all,

A further update... regarding transponder 12.015H [27500] 3/4

If you are able to receive this satellite/frequency... give it a rescan... NN24 Nigeria is now testing and the channel is currently FTA

Best Wishes,
Zorch

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi all,

Back to today...

I can still receive 2-3 of the DSTV (Sub-Sahara Africa Beam) frequencies... 12.245H is there almost constantly... and on good days I can receive 2 more of the TP's...

11.747H [27500] 3/4 DVB-S [QPSK] 38.0 Mbps [Sub-Sahara Africa Beam]
12.073V [27500] 3/4 DVB-S [QPSK] 38.0 Mbps [Sub-Sahara Africa Beam]

Nearly all of these frequencies have now been paired with Russian (Left & Right Circular) identical frequencies which has had the effect of reducing their previous signal strength substantially here in the UK...

At the moment I am receiving 2 of the 3 frequencies... I have added pictures of 12.245H on this post... and I will add pictures of 12.073V on the post directly below... and when I manage to lock onto 11.747H... I will also post pictures...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

Hmm this is the first time I've ever logged this satellite, I really need to look at a better LNB or at-least see if I can adjust it a bit.

Try doing a full blind scan of the satellite mate... you should find quite a lot on there...

From which source is this footprint adonis1 ? At _http://www.eutelsat.com/satellites/36e-w7_popd.html the Iberian peninsula cannot be seen. Also the beam over Africa is slightly different than yours.

Hi deepbluesky,

Check out the 'Africa Beam' on here...

Code:

Zorch thnaks but this is the W4 Africa Beam not the W7 SSA Beam.

Hi again deepbluesky,

What I was trying to point out was the W4 'Africa Beam' is the closest match to the footprint that adonis1 posted...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

I see. Well even then 38dbW over Spain is far too pessimistic for having such good signals all over Western Europe with much smaller dishes.

12244 H cleared for me briefly at 0404GMT I was about to record the ts and went again, luckily tsreader grabbed some stills in the meantime.

_http://imgur.com/a/hgJ2U#0

Not sure why they went clear had the TV on in the background doing nothing and audio started. Bonus of being up so early?

I received in good condition this spot W4 Africa Beam here in spain
even with small antenna 1m
signal is strong enough

You say you received it, now you don't ? If you have this 1m aimed to 36E, do you get now 12275H and 12437H of W4 Africa Beam and all of the Sub Sahara Beam frequencies of W7 ?
