Hi -
Encouraged by limited success with k/u circular a couple of years ago at 36 East ... and the fact that my 1.8 c.m is now free to be setup with a clear view to eastern Sats that were blocked or part blocked in the past - I decided to have a go at 56 east ...
Managed to lock one transponder 1.jpgDSC00990-Optimized.JPG DSC00993-Optimized.JPG DSC01001-Optimized.JPG DSC01003-Optimized.JPG

- others are 2-3 db below lock DSC01005-Optimized.JPG DSC01006-Optimized.JPG

Kit used for reception .... 3.JPG 4.jpg 5.JPG 1.8 C.M. .... C.M. feed with original dielectric plate - Inverto black pro C120 l.n.b.

Didn,t expect to lock anything to be honest ... as well outside of the footprint for 56E so feeling quite pleased

That is a very nice bit of extreme fringe DX'ing, well done. Are you temped to try the 2.4m CM on it to see if it can capture the rest of the Wide beam frequencies?

Encouraged to try at some point certainly .... The 2.4 is not currently setup to easily do that though ... and the weather is changing here this morning. Later in the week maybe. A nearby barn roof may affect reception at 56 east i think ... 53E was the limit really, with the 1.8 at that location .... but the 2.4 sits higher so maybe a chance? ... Good forecast for Thursday here - if i have time to spare - l.o.l.

There is a relatively new DVB-S2X package in circular polarisation listed on Flysat for 56.0 East with modulation of 16APSK and FEC 25/36.

If you have a receiver capable of detecting the signal it would be an extreme fringe prize catch. I think the Edision Mio Pro should be able to manage the signal parameters? Possibly one for "scopus" or "stephan94"?

Nice catch! My very limit is 57E on the 1.8m but only a quarter of the dish is illuminated at that angle owing to neighbour's tree and roof...

Is 36E still catching on the 1.8m?

Hi C.J.
Didn,t try 36E yesterday ... but noticed on Flysat that only one of the 3 original transponders that i could lock is still transmitting ... looks like the other 2 packages have moved to new frequency's ... will be looking there on a good weather day before i move - or take that dish down ....

Yes, it's true you need a device for 16APSK, but more importantly, you need a large antenna for such a transponder,in your area,at least 2.70 m,better 3m!With my 150 cm dish, much closer to the spot, I need at least three or four dB to lock this signal.
It is true that I use lnb linear for Ku band, and not circular as recommended.

The 11766 L transponder is listed as DVB-S2X, I am not sure if you will need a DVB-S2X capable DVB card with CrazyScan? I think that "satesco" has a TBS 6903X DVB card which is capable of detecting DVB-S2X signals?

Perhaps "satesco" can confirm what DVB card was used for his CrazyScan result?

I also tried it with a TBS 6903X. For the Spectrum it does not matter which card it is. A lock is of course only possible with a card that supports DVB S2X.

@moonbase .. no lock with the 2.4 .... Nearby roof blocking too much of the dish i suspect ....

Same here with the Precision 2.0m on the mobile pallet, I have no line of sight at all to 56.0 East from the patio, it is completely blocked by adjacent houses. I would need to setup something at the far end of the garden to get a glimpse of 56.0 East

I managed to get 52.0 East a few months ago with a temporary Precision 1.2m setup from the far right corner of the garden. There was a bit of clear sky to the left that gets blocked by trees and possibly roof tops at around 60.0 East. I think 56.0 East might be possible from that location?

Sorry I'm only answering now.Indeed, you were right,11766 has left the satellite.I checked the position(56.0E) with 110cm dish and linear lnb,not circular. It is possible to be moved to Eastern spot!?

Regards
