I installed this LNB today, but unfortunately I didn't find any signals above 12750. This LNB can reach well below 12750; in fact, I adjusted the skew precisely to these frequencies. We'll wait for some frequencies to be activated in the future.

The two LHC Extended Ku transponders that were active at 42° East left about five weeks ago but they have done this before and could come back at some time perhaps - checked again just now and still absent. ... There are still two markers 13.400 & 13.583 to be seen at around 30°E (can't remember from which satellite though ) .

Senior moment admission - the two missing Extended Ku transponders were Vertical polorised - i think i had the Circ polorised transponders in mind that are on Ka.

Extended Ku @ 13775.50 noted this morning, on Linear feed but could possibly be Circ pol, 1.2m Gibby, Central UK. .... somewhere around 8° ~ 12° West , i'll try and get a more accurate sky position

I get this signal at 7/8 West in H
using my LNB for extended KU. I don't know if it's really a signal in this band or strange harmonics of the KU.

Extended Ku @ 13775.50 noted this morning, on Linear feed but could possibly be Circ pol, 1.2m Gibby, Central UK. .... somewhere around 8° ~ 12° West , i'll try and get a more accurate sky position

In the space of 40 minutes it went from the left scan info to the right scan info. It's not inclined and it stayed in the same orbital position.

13775.5 might be BPSK. I wonder if this is it:

It's more likely that you caught TDRS13 (inclined orbit) talking to something, that is BPSK. Check the position of ISS at the time, if it was between you and TDRS12, that could explain it. Although TDRS13 is closer to 11W.

I hadn't looked at this for a year and got confused. TDRS12 is around 41W incl. and TDRS13 is 11W incl. I've only ever seen ISS in comms with TDRS12. I TDRS13, which has the BPSK, must have been in comms with something else.

TDRS12 looks like this when in comms with ISS:


and is only ever been visible to me for 2-3 minutes for a reasonable pass. TDRS craft have quite big dishes which can slew quite fast. If you check the time that you can see a signal, you can get an idea of the angular speed of whatever craft it's tracking. I expected them to be circular polarised but they appear to be linear, so the skew needs to be peaked.

There's more info here, including the band plan. I've only seen the TDRS to LEO signals. I haven't looked for LEO to TDRS but they probably aren't omni and point away from Earth. The only TDRS to ground I've seen is from the omni S band beacons. The main downlink is probably tightly focused on White Sands.

USA-139 is something else to look for outside normal Ku. However, the TLE for it is over a year old so I don't know if it has really moved out of view for Europe.
