Hello,
I have been able to connect my 2 off Dreambox 500’s into my home network and share between them.
I have also been able to connect one off the DB’s (client) externally via the internet to the DB (server) in my house for a limited amount of time only.
My problem is that my external IP address is dynamic and always changes.
The solution to this is obviously to get a Static ip address from my ISP, but they do not for some reason offer a Static IP address.
As a last resort , I know I would have to change ISP’s but I am happy with my current deal and it is just to much hastle at the moment to change ISP’s
I know that there are are web sites out there that offer programs which you install onto your computer and if the dynamic address changes this change is linked back to a website which updates your ip address changes. Therefore when, you connect to this website it then directs you to your upated ip address.
My question. Is it possible to get an add on for the dreambox to get around this? If there is not any add ons, is it too difficult to get involved with Linux on the dreambox to configure it, considering I am not a Linux expert.
Any pointers, help or guidance would be appreciated
