I'm in!

I'll give you my Team name later today when I've had time to register.

Never done this before, but it look like a decent bit of fun.

Im in with a temporary team for the time being - ScotbordersF1 again :)

Its going to be an interesting season what with 4 new teams and the cheating git back.

Last years entrants can just log in again :)

Have entered :)

Awooga Racing

Ok.

Registered my team as Ant Hill Mob

(From Wacky Races, for those that have never had the pleasure!)

Lol, I used to love that:

[tube]oJFX6f0rJeI[/tube]

Can't believe only 17 episodes were made.

That's the kiddy.

Then Mr.D******ly moved on to "Flying Machines" ................... "Medal, Medal!"

OK I am in again but do not like nor understand the existing points allocation system,
since Brawn won the constructors and drivers championship but is 4th in the list of managers, how can that be correct?
McLaren the best chassis Mercedes who won constructors 4th
Mercedes McLaren the best Engine Mercedes Mercedes 4th
Shumacher has not driven in a race for 3 years and has 38 points rated 7th

Go figure

OK, I'm in, Burnin Rubber.:)

Explanation the PFF1 component costs:

1. McLaren
McLaren and Red Bull were the best teams in the 2nd half of season 2009
The drivers are Button (Champion 2009) and Hamilton (Champion 2008)

2. Red Bull
2nd in Constructors Championship 2009; no testing in Valencia so far -> no further information available at the moment.

3. Ferrari
Best team in testing this week. Alonso and Massa: two strong drivers

4. Mercedes (Brawn GP)
Brawn GP was the No. 1 Team only in the 1st half of the season 2009. Button is not a member of the team anymore. Testing times weren't that good. Schumacher was half a second faster than Rosberg.

These are the reasons for my evaluation.

But I am going to correct the values anyway after race 3. See the PFF1 rules:

Extraordinary adjustment of component costs:

After the race 3 of a season an obligatory extraordinary adjustment of component costs will be executed. This regulation is valid for the components Manager, Driver 1 and 2m Chassis and Engine (not for Driver 3 and Tyres).

PPF1 is going to adjust the component costs which do not correspond to their performance level. The price can be increased or decreased, depending on a component is undervalued or overvalued.

Kind regards
Maverick

It's all part of the charm of the game, plenty to discuss! Thanks Mav for explaining :)

Ok, I've joined. "Equipe Etranger"

Not sure whether or not I have to create another two teams though?

Pete

No, one will do!

I think this first season for us "newbies" is going to be based upon guesswork and luck :D

You can create a second team - its then entered in one of the public leagues and takes no part in the forum competition. Can be useful for trying a different strategy - I ran a second team last year - it did better than my forum team :-rofl2

Thanks for that AS. One team will be quite enough to get my head round!! I resisted the temptation to enter "Team Toon". This would have been a certain kiss of death!!

OK well thanks to Maverick for his explanation.

It seem odd though to assess points on a test session where most of the teams were not present and the teams that were present were all using different tyre options/combinations and fuel levels. Surely if test sessions are going to come in to the initial points equation it would be better to wait until all pre-season testing was completed before doing such an allocation.

I would however have thought the fairest option for the first race of the season would be to put all team's, drivers, engines and chassis on a points par then adjust based upon the results from race one.

My reasons would be as follows
The season is new, thus no preconcieved ideas concerning the strength of any of the teams including new teams.
Regulations are different this year in that no fuel stops allowed some cars may be designed to run fast when empty or fast when full or a balanced midpoint condition
The development of cars for all teams old and new is thus unknown
There have been considerable driver/team changes for this year.

Don't get me wrong I am not trying to cause trouble here I appreciate that there has to be a starting point somewhere, but if there has then should it not be equal for all componants? rather than based on partial 2nd half of the season history and a preliminary test session for three or four of the teams?

The counter to that is that Brawn GP were quite clearly faster than everyone else during testing last season, as were Red Bull. Ultimately, it's incumbent upon us, the managers, to find and exploit the most valuable component available - that is the game. What is more crucial, IMO, is that the post race 3 readjustment gives a true picture of the state of things, because that is what the majority of the season will be based upon.

Hello everyone!
Pazinho (Team Outcast) is back to try and do better than last year.

I'm in with Creatures - hope this season lives up to the expectations :)
